Are you adventurous when it comes to trying new food?

My mother was born in Denmark, so I was raised with a very interesting variety of food. Anthony Bourdain would have been proud to know me. A few minutes ago I came across the following memory on Facebook. “Only a fellow Scandinavian, or someone who knows us extremely well, will understand what possessed me to eat an entire block of Limburger Cheese, just now. It sure was delicious!!! #DanishCravings” That is definitely something I would do. Several of my north American born friends think I am crazy for my unique taste. I like to try everything once, and if I like it, i’ll Have it again. Do you like to be adventurous when trying new foods, or do you like to stick with what you know? What’s the coolest thing you’ve tried lately, and what is the most unique food that you really like?

I am game with whatever food as long as they are edible. Even exotic one.

That’s exactly how I feel. It may be unusual to me, but in some part of the world it’s a delicacy.

Perhaps the most unique food would be for me, chocolate dipped bacon. I don't know about chocolate dipped crickets, LOL. not that adventurous. I have only had caviar once. Shrimp Gumbo with sausage - Louisiana style might be right up there with adventurous.

I love caviar, I love gumbo, and I would definitely try the chocolate covered bacon, and even the chocolate covered ants.

@danishcanadian , Well 3 out of 4 in my case would not be too bad. I will have to pass on the chocolate covered ants. After all I am a Texan so we are more about hot chili peppers here.

I will try anything. I believe if you don't try it, you can't say you don't like it. Life is all about new experiences, and one of the easiest ways to be adventurous is food. I have to admit though: I probably wouldn't eat the p e n i s of anything. I am not that adventurous.

Unfortunately, my gastro-adventure streak does not go as wide as yours. I am not a picky eater by any means, but I prefer the common foods that can be found anywhere else in the world - vegetables, rice, chicken, beef and fish. I would try exotic foods once in a while but not more than a bite just for a taste.

If it is not some terrible thing like the insects, perhaps I'd like to try the new food. In fact when I travel abroad, I have never wanted to try the food from my country as I can have it here everyday. I like to try the local food much more although some may not delicious for me.

I feel excited for new food and I always like to give it a try. Swiss breads I tried and liked as well a couple of months before.

I like adventuring into new delicacies but I have to first be able to eat the ingredients. You will not cook for me insects and expect me to adventure into it
