Shopping Day

Happy Friday Everyone! even though I'm retired I get excited when Friday rolls around. My morning started with my usual cup of coffee and once my brain started to function I made my list for Sams Club. Then we were off to do the shopping and of course we spent more but got some things we needed even though they weren't on the list. Shopping at Sams Club works well for us even though it's only two of us. Meat is cheaper and it's worth spending the money for a large package rather than paying a higher price in the supermarket for a smaller size. I just break it all down into portion sizes and put them in the freezer. Since the freezer is getting low it was time to stock up. Lots of shoppers seemed to be getting ready for Father's Day. Traditionally a barbecue is the way to celebrate Father's Day. My dad passed away many years ago and my kids father walked away one day without even looking back so we aren't celebrating Father's Day at my house. My son and my sons in law will all be doing their own thing with their families and I'm happy to say that they are all good fathers. The weather has gotten warmer and we're in for a muggy hot weekend. But the sun will be shining so that's a plus. I'll be checking in throughout the day. My grandson is here for the afternoon and we're having pizza for lunch (his choice). I have a few things for him to do after lunch since he loves to use his "muscles" and I'll take advantage whenever I can. Hope everyone is having a great Friday!

Same as Andria, no dads left in our family, but Father's Day has already been celebrated here, it was in March.

I had the day off even though I'm not yet retired. I took off two extra days this week so I could get my feet on pillows a bit more than I'm able to do when cashiering. Not that I was all that successful, but I did try. I spent a good part of the afternoon traveling about the city doing three bids. And then, when my daughter returned home from work I treated her to a wendy's salad and a frosty. We then went to the bookstore in the mall and I purchased two books. One to help my marriage, the other to help me eat better, hopefully once I get around to reading it that is. Tomorrow I go back to work and won't get extra time off until the holiday in July. My sister is coming to town so I took off a few extra days again for the holiday and after it. I'm getting prayed for in front of the church on Sunday and am believing that's what it will take to get total healing of the wounds still on my foot.

I'm glad you got some great bargains on meat at Sam's Club. I like shopping there too, but haven't done so in a while. I should probably check out their meat and produce.

We don't have a Sam's club but we have a Costco which I frequent. I usually buy their chicken roaster which is very good! You definitely can find some smart bargains there.

I have not seen my father in quite a few years. I sure do miss him. He looks like he is one tough dude but he is actually harmless and innocent as a teddy bear.
