What a crazy day!

Yesterday, my husband and I were supposed to pick up our friend at the airport who was arriving from Massachusetts. We were almost at the airport which is about an hour away when she called and said her flight was delayed in Charlotte and she'd be a couple of hours later getting in. Our son lives in that town, so we went to his house to wait and picked up hamburgers for supper with our son and grandson. Got another call that all flights to Greenville were cancelled because? She planned to get a hotel room and fly in the next day. We were almost home when we found out she got the very last seat on a flight to Raleigh, arriving at 11:10pm (and no flights the next day.) We had just driven in our drive way, but turned around and headed to Raleigh about an hour away. We don't drive a lot after dark these days, but thank God we got there at midnight and made it home and to bed by 3am. Glad to see our friend and she'll join us tonight for an early Father's day supper for my husband and son. Her luggage should hopefully be delivered today. Anyway, it was a crazy day, but thankful everything worked out. I've got the chocolate pies made, the eggs deviled, the beef roast roasting, the sweet tea chilling, and the rest is coming along!
