A New Way of Making Coffee

Canada
June 16, 2018 3:58pm CST
I am one of those people who have to have my coffee in the morning and throughout the day. Since both my coffee brewer and my microwave are on the blink, I had to get creative with brewing my coffee. All I have is ground coffee, so instant is not an alternative at the moment. I can still make my coffee, but it is a four step process. 1. Prepare Ground coffee in a filter in the coffee maker. 2. Boil a pot of water on the stove 3. Pour boiled water over coffee grounds in filter until all water is gone and coffee pot is full. 4. Reheat coffee on stove to desired temperature.

I have Tim Horton's, Robin's Donuts and McCafe all within a neat little triangle surrounding me, but their coffee gives me the runs.

You could make that a 2 step. Coffee and water in pot, boil. Reduce to low and pour into cup through a small strainer. Hope you get your pot soon though.

That could work too! I must try that. Thank you for the heads up.

You are resourceful! I would just go to Dunkin Donuts or Wawa for a cup of coffee. I hope you get the Keurig from your daughter soon.

I hope she brings it soon too. She works odd shifts so I have to call her on her day off which is Sunday.

@NJChicaa Well, if you do decide to get a new one anytime soon and the one you have still works... PM me. It will probably get here faster by snail mail than my daughter's...and she only lives five minutes away.

@NJChicaa You may have to help it along when no one else is looking.

I don't drink coffee enough to justify a coffee maker.

Both were basically the same as usual. Still a good cup o' Java.

Well, yes, a few steps involved in that..I say spring for a coffeemaker..you can get them for about 10 bucks at Wallys. Mine came from Aldi and was about 20, but it does a great job and is even programmable.

@Starmaiden That works! However, if you drink more than one cup at a time, you might find the Keurig impractical, unless it is one of the ones that comes with a carafe.

@snowy22315 That's what my daughter has now. The one she is giving me only makes one cup at a time, but at least I know its fresh.

My daughter is bringing me her old keurig. It is still relatively new, but she has another one that she uses more often.

Life isn't very nice when our coffee makers die is it? At least you've got a work around for this issue, it reminds me of the old glass percolator that used to sit on the stove-top when I was growing up.

My daughter has a Keurig and she just purchased a new one. She offered to give me her old one which is in perfect condition, but she wanted something that would make more than one cup at a time. I told her yes, I would like to have it. That was last Monday. I'm still waiting for her to drop it off to me like she said she would.

@Starmaiden That's nice of her. I hope you would love it. It's great for making tea too.

Walmart has the cheaper coffee pot for around $10, I have had one of the cheap ones for 5-6 years now.

My way to making coffee. 1. Walk from home and go to Starbucks. 2. Open wallet (your own wallet). 3. Buy. 4. Enjoy it.
