Okay, I have seen some strange things but Extreme Ironing?!?! I do Microsoft Rewards (used to be known as Bing Rewards) and one of the daily tasks was about this extreme sport. It has been around since 1997 when Phil Shaw from Leicester, England decides that he doesn't want to come home from work and do his ironing. He would rather be outside enjoying the sunshine. Hmm, so what should we do about that conundrum. Hey why not take my ironing with me? What a good idea. So how about it fellow mylotters? Are we going to try Extreme Ironing? Here's a link to some more pictures of different ways to participate: https://www.bing.com/images/search?q=extreme+ironing&form=ML18FK&OCID=ML18FK&rnoreward=1 So what are your thoughts??? Picture from Bing images.

Hi Sherry. I like ironing but will not do it in places that could be the end of me (knock knock on wood). I wouldnt risk it.

I don't blame you at all. I wouldn't do it either. I am too afraid of heights and I don't like ironing enough to take it with me anywhere.

I dislike ironing so I will certainly not make an extreme sport out of it.

I will agree with you there. Even if I liked ironing I still don't think I would make an extreme sport out of it.

@Marty1 I would much rather have a clothes steamer as they are easier than using an iron anyway. Of course, I don't have one of them either.

Ahh, no, I never iron. I do have one though..for iron on patches and the like. You never know when there could be a use for an iron.

That is true, but I don't have one. I would just borrow my friends iron if the need arises.

@Marty1 I won't borrow one for every day type of ironing, but for iron on patches I would.

I think I prefer to have the ironing at home. It would be troublesome if I bring all the clothes, iron, etc outside the house.

@morgoodie That should be done at home. We can have more fun without thinking about household chores when being outside.

I am with you on that. It would be more of a pain to take it wherever you are going to do this sport than just staying at home and ironing it.

I wonder how he carry all the things he needed up there. And getting the ironed clothes down without messing it again.

@dfollin yes, that is something to think about. It is not easy to climb mountains with big backpack, what more if it is ironing board and a lot of clothes to iron. Then when going down, you have to hang it so it will not wrinkle. And God knows how hard to go down especially the steep road and trails.

Yes that would make it even harder especially the weight of the ironing board and the iron. I wonder if they have specially made ones for this very silly sport? Seems like having your wrinkled clothes would get more wrinkles from being shoved in a backpack anyway, so that means extra work.

My handicaps do not allow me to stand there and iron. I don't really like it anyway. But if he likes it and likes to iron outsides, that is up to him

Haha, I love the picture! Ironing is my least favourite task so no matter where I did it I would see it as a chore! My tumble dryer normally gets rid of any creases!

@Hannihar Yep after I wash them they don't need to be ironed. I don't really have any fancy clothes, just t-shirts mainly.

@nela13 Me too. I don't need to be pressed that much. I hate ironing and folding clothes so I am not going to prolong my agony by doing a bunch of clothes that are fine as is. LOL

Yeah all that steam from the iron makes the heat worse. At least in the winter, you can use the steam to keep warm while you iron. But I would prefer to not iron though.

Haha I didn't think of that, but you are right. I don't think I would want to be the photographer either. Personally, if I was on the mountain top I would rather sit there and take in the view instead of trying to iron my clothes. I even seen a picture of someone ironing under water. I mean really? How does that even work?

One way to do it would be to let the clothes sit in the hot sun for a while then iron them on the patio. The clothes would already be hot so no need to plug the iron in.
