Clever I Was! Father`s Day Gifts

Happy fathers day to all of you guys out there. If my dad was still alive he would be 85 years old and I would be doing the same thing as I had done for many years. My dad had everything he wanted so when I asked what do you want he would always say nothing although he knew he would get something. So I would suggest his favorite cake or pie since I can bake fabulous desserts. I also had a step mother and I tried to get along with her for his sake but she would do the worst thing, she would find out what I was baking and make the same thing! But only give it to him before I would arrive with my gift. Yes I would be upset, who wants that many sweets of the same flavor? So I decided to get even with the witch. I knew what my dad liked so I began to tell her what I was "not" making. I knew what was a second favorite of my dads and I would announce that was what I am bringing. My dad loved coconut anything and his second flavor was lemon. The look on her face was one of those priceless moments, like I had just slapped her, when she seen that I brought something different. The look on my dads face was even better, a huge smile, he seen how I outfoxed her evil self. That is how I managed my dad to get more out of each holiday.

@andriaperry My mother was jealous of the relationship that my Dad and I shared, and it was just a Daddy-Daughter relationship, but she didn't like it. Whenever he'd go shopping for a new car, he'd take me along, not her, not any of my brothers, just he and I. Funny...…..my husband and I still buy from that same dealership that he bought from for decades.

@Juliaacv if any of us brought him dinner, the "evidence" had to be taken away by us or he would drop it in a trash can at his work. Each day when she came home she searched the trash. I am not kidding! That is how jealous she was of what he got.

That is so awful your stepmother would do that. I'm glad you were able to outsmart her. Apparently she wasn't creative enough to come up with a present for him on her own so she had to steal your ideas. For Father's day I got my father two bags of chocolate covered coffee beans, a lottery ticket and two new flavored candy bars. Then for my boyfriend I gave him two bags of the chocolate covered coffee beans too as well as a plant. I went to dinner with my father, mother and sister. Then afterwards I went to my boyfriend's house and watched movies with him for a few hours.
