USPS annoyances.

I have a few dvds coming via USPS. They were ordered through eBay last week and as soon as i received the tracking number I began tracking them. I was pleased to see that they were supposed to be here yesterday. They got to Pensacola on Saturday, early in the morning (Pensacola is the big hub for all the mail out here and its about two hours away) so I figured it would be here Monday (yesterday) no problem. Yesterday when I tracked the package and checked my alerts I saw that the package had been processed through the Port St Joe post office and was processed out. Late last night I got am alert that said my package had been processed back through the Pensacola post office. Finally this morning at about 4 am it said it was en route to its destination. Which I hope means its on its way here and will be delivered today.

I try to avoid using USPS as much as possible. FedEx is almost as bad. If I had my way, I would have everything shipped through UPS.

All of them can be really iffy, UPS was supposed to deliver an order I placed via Walmart.com on the 21st but when I called Wally yesterday they said they would look into it and then after I was on hold for a little while the lady came back and told me she had them resend me a new order because UPS claimed the older order was damaged .... so UPS couldn't tell me that??

@rebelann I had an issue with FedEx when I ordered a new MacBook Pro laptop. They told me the package was delivered, but it wasn't, and I had requested signature delivery, and since I hadn't signed for the package, I knew it hadn't been delivered. I called Apple, and they shipped out a new laptop for overnight delivery--at their expense!

I remember you writing about that not too long ago @moffittjc I wonder if FedEx had to explain what happened to the Apple people. Would be interesting to know.

Yes, packages show up as "delivered" here when they are just at the local post office. We have gone through that too.

I never understand when packages get rerouted to locations in the opposite direction from where they're heading. Sometimes when I order things, the tracking info shows that it's somewhere in California, then it gets updated that it's moved further away from me, then it circles back before it's finally delivered. So weird how the USPS works.

I don't understand why it went back and forth either.

I remember when I was getting a package from my mom when I lived in Wyoming, it was in Phoenix, then Denver, then back to some other place in Arizona, to Denver, to Cheyenne and then it was stuck in limbo in Cheyenne and then it made it back to Denver and then finally to me. It was bizarre.

Its weird where they send stuff. We always get stuff straight from Pensacola. I've never had a package go to port St Joe. So weird.
