Can you believe it is the longest day of the year? Ok, here in the US at least, I'm not sure if down under is experiencing the shortest but that would seem likely. The photo above is of Mykey, he happened to be in a playful mood when I snapped this shot, isn't he adorable? So it's the longest day of the year, do you have any special plans?

No special plans other than to get my notifications done and work on a book that desperately needs help. I did go to the pool this morning and witnessed a fabulous sunrise. I did finish my shopping before coming home, and I did take a much needed nap. So, I'm good for the rest of the day. Mykey is adorable.

I wish I had a pool right now, it's 102 out and boy could I use a cool dunk .... hummm, I do have a bath tub

I used to have a kiddie pool but the sun dried it out and it became brittle and broke apart @just4him

Oh wow, that's so kool @DianneN you were your dad's fathers day gift. Yeah, you'd have to check the almanack to find out of it was the summer solstice on the day of your birth, that would really be kool too ya know.

@rebelann It varies. I was born on June 20th. Sometimes that's the first day of summer. I know I was born on Father's Day!

I actually fell asleep for about 3 hours on one of those hot days @Shellyann36 I feel sorry for my mattress cuz I literally soaked it from all the sweat ..... thank goodness I've always drank a lot of water.

It was a long daylight, because it was hot and sunny, today is also very hot. It seems that the temperature will go down for the next few days. Very well.

Lucky you. We will be near 42(c) for the next few days and hopefully by monday it will only be 38(c) or so, that is much easier to tolerate.

@rebelann We reached 31 C today, but as soon as the wind started blowing we came down to 27 C. I know the night will be fresh.

I didn't. I just work some and read some.My mother brought me a custom made scratching post. Today I went to get the mail, fed the kittens next door and put the stuff back on the porch. I hope to read some and maybe go grocery shopping.

@rebelann no. My uncle's neighbor made it. It's nice. I moved it near the kitchen window and she now gets on the top seat and look out the window.
