The Federal government passed legislation to legalize and regulate recreational marijuana in Canada. Beginning October 17th , adults will be allowed to legally buy and use marijuana. Each province can make their own rules about implementing the new law. Adults will also be able to grow up to four plants at home but some provinces are not allowing home growing. Along with the new pot law, new legislation was passed to give police new powers to do roadside checks for drivers impaired by drugs. This makes Canada the 2nd country in the world and the first G7 country to have a national pot market. The first country was Uruguay in 2013.

I, for one, want nothing to do with it. How did it work out in Uruguay?

@1hopefulman (I meant skies in my previous comment, edited) Good article and interesting but not surprising that the crime rate dropped after pot legalization. But I think we may have a similar problem when it comes to selling to tourists - not sure if it is allowed though.

I have never used it and have no intention of using it. However, I feel it is okay because there are still strict laws relating to its use.

That's good. It's not as bad as what others think it is.

@Freelanzer Maybe both should be consumed in moderation so it won't turn out bad.

I think this is a good idea. I wish Australia would legalise its use.

@Freelanzer I hope we do - not for my sake. I've never even tried it but it does seem to be very useful for pain relief.
