Setting goals is no fun at myLot

I spent more time at myLot this month and set a goal. I noticed getting there was not easy but may be at the end of today I might.
What I noticed however was that setting a goal took away my fun time here. I was more into checking my bank.
I still need a few cents to reach where I want to but I doubt if I will and that is not a nice feeling.
No more goals for me but just look for fun time.

myLot is for fun and not for earning. If one does not aim to earn it takes a different tone.

@allknowing Yes it does, its fun to talk and learn about others, the earning is just the other fun part of it.

Glad that many here have realised that. Real life gets affected. I must rush to the kitchen now. Have to see to breakfast

I know that some people set goals. I have never done it. I have been paid many times in the past, but it is not that important to me if I get paid this month or next month.

When I set goals, My Lot became an obsession for me. I was pushing myself, spending far too much time online, neglecting my household duties, and staying home all day long. Watching the bank was controlling my thoughts, most of the time. It's an addiction, not good!

Yes, if you set a goal, you might loose the fun part. I had set a goal and wanted to reach the minimum payout by june end. I missed it by a dollar but I am sure I will reach it sooner or later. The key to be here on this site is to interact with people and to enjoy it.

I dont do goals for that reason. I have made payout with ease with just chatting with everyone here.

Good that you've realised this. It seems to be contagious here to set goals. Hardly a day goes by without a post on setting goals. Is this the Protestant work ethics? Also non-Protestants can suffer from it.
If you don't reach your goal this month, you'll reach it next month. So what? I assume that you won't die of hunger if you don't find the extra +/- $5 in your account once a month.

I understand why you said setting goals is no fun. It is a challenge to get to where you want to be here. It is a lot of hard work and does take the fun out of being here too. I find setting goals here makes me work much harder to get to it or as close as I can. I also set a goal after the end of the month to see what amount I want to start at.. That makes me want to work harder here to reach it and I still have fun.

This is a great post for us newbies... It is what is great here in myLot i saw a lot of selfless sharings and we do learn a lot. This is a caution for me not to do too.

@allknowing but based on your experience, is it better to mention the one im responding to or i just respond/ comment on their message. Sometimes its automaticaly placed the "@User" but sometimes not.
