Windy Days

It is another windy day, with the winds seem to shriek, scream, howl in some sort of pain. In my younger years when I was still an exuberant youth, I used to love windy days, the windier, the better, that sort of thing! (Windy days to me back then = excitements = changes for a better spring weather instead of gloomy winter.) I changed my attitude towards the wind these days after having headaches from dealing with tradesmen re: storm damage to the roof, the gutters, etc. Hope the weather remains good in your world, it is going to rain badly here... --- Image from Pixabay

We are not used to lots of wind as our house is quite protected. When we encounter really bad winds we find it difficult to deal with.

@YrNemo That would be a worry. We are surrounded by trees - sort of - but none are close enough to hit the house if they come down.

I have begun to worry that one day, the giant tree next to our roof, would crash into our place. It is a very old and big tree.

I thought that picture was in your area. The wind is good as long as it doesn't district everyday life. I mean one should sit inside during a storm looking out and munching snacks and a book in hand

There are plenty of streets here with much taller trees (similar type) than those in that photos. I have photos of them somewhere but I was lazy to dig them out. Ours are decorative type however, very elegant and tall, but no fruit!

Our coconuts here are very tall, AND with no fruit whatsoever. They are all decorative stuff (one day, I will have to dig the photo out from my cellphone and show you). The one from pixabay seems to be from Florida.

Please send some of your rain to England. We'll swap it for some sun & heat. But keep the wind; I'm not keen on wind.

Heard the birds squawking before, I am wondering if that was from some sort of evacuation... (before the storm)

Yes, strong winds and storms can make big damages ! This year we have lost dozens of full grown trees on gthe farm because of this! Thanks!

I think you all do have a lot of problems. It is not as if we don't but you all seem to have risk each year. It is either forest fires, tornadoes, hurricanes, or floods or windy weather. Wonder whether constructing some huge structures can prevent the winds from getting the support from ground level.

@YrNemo Yeah...your tornadoes and hurricanes are terrifying. Even forest fires.

If it was not drought, it would be flood, or fire etc. Too many extremes!

I swear I have begun to feel slightly uncomfortable in my ears, whenever the wind begin to writhe around. (used to be fine when I was younger.)

i love it when it's rainy and windy, instead of just one steady heavy downpour because the house is cooler. but i get nervous when i start hearing flapping and banging noises around the neighborhood!

You have a romantic soul . Rainy and windy makes me think of drown rats. (I used to go home from my night class re: some post grad studies, in that sort of rain: windy and pouring. I remember feeling sorry for myself, walking in that horrible weather, tears or rain, falling down steadily from my face .)

Wind means downed trees and that's so dangerous. We are in the midst of a horrible heat wave here.

We have that now and then, about 111°F and windy (horrible hot wind). Days that so disgustingly hot like that, I begin to understand how a roasted chicken feel when in a convection oven .

Becareful out there specially if it's a strong one that fly you out. Always find a shelter away from the wind.

Once I was walking when the wind suddenly became violent. I found myself being pushed onto a kerb. I had no choice but to sit down for a while, waiting for that wind to die down. It was a bit embarrassing especially that stretch of road was a busy one.

I'm sorry it's so windy there. Hot here, no wind, humid. We could use rain, but not until after the fireworks tonight.
