It's pretty easy, really. You post something - anything, really: a 'discussion' like this; a response to someone else's discussion or a comment on a response, either here or in someone else's discussion - and when someone else interacts with what you have posted in some way, you will earn something (a fraction of a cent, but it all adds up).
I see that you are not exactly new here but, very likely, the look of the site and the way it works will be unfamiliar.to you A few of the people who were here before 2013 are still active but there are a lot of new members as well. You can only get to know them (and they you) by being active and 'social' ... responding to and 'liking' other people's discussions as well as commenting on (=replying to) the responses you get in your own discussions are VERY important because people will tend to interact more with people who interact with them. If you don't come back and make your 'discussions' discussions, you're unlikely to get very far!
You'll find almost all you need to know about the way that myLot works now - and it's rather different from the way it was before - in the "Help" section (in the menu under your username on the left)

@ramapo17 The most important difference is the completely re-written earnings algorithm. We also lost 'Categories' and 'Interests', both of which are catered for by 'Tags', and 'Friends' was split into 'Followed' and 'Followers'. Other differences are mostly cosmetic (the different and more logical interface, for example)

The first step for all newbies is to read the Guidelines to learn what is allowed or not on the site. Then you can write a post introducing yourself. Tell us a bit about yourself.
Furthermore, read around as much as you can, Like and Comment on other members' posts. Only then will members come to your site and do the same. This is called interaction.
Don't expect too much money-wise. If you reach $5 a month (the payout limit), you can call yourself lucky.

Hello @Shynne It takes awhile before you will see anything in your bank. When I first started over 3 years ago I was frustrated about not seeing anything in my bank. Some of the people I connected with told me to keep writing and answering others posts to. I have seen a big difference. I was working then and didn't have much time to react here but since I am retired I have been making more as I am on here more. Follow the rules that are printed from others and you will be okay. @Shynne I know for a fact that some people do make good money here. I am not that regular. Sometimes I can be on for hours and other times I have other things to do. I can come on here and when I look at my clock a few hours have gone by.
Good luck and that is good you are seeing money already. I keep a daily record of my earnings. It is fun to keep.

Yes, do your own post introducing yourself to us and tell us something about you what you like to do and things like that. I hope that helped and you are welcome. Go into discussion and put a title to the post and write something so we can get to know you better.

Hi there. I just created this account as well, but am not that newbie when it comes to this site. I do know you can earn some here from previous years' post and it seems like the algorithm has changed ever since. It's interesting to find out what kind of discussions you can find here, so happy earnings to you.

My simple advice. Just enjoy staying here, participate in other topics , or start yours... You ll never know that $$ are stacking in your account.

@Shynne You can check the most discussed topics, or recent topics from menu. There isnt anything like comon topics. Just be yourself, express yourself. It can be anything whether your life events, or place events or any incidents. Esp which gives positive ,messages :)
