Is it a plant or a pet? A pet plant?
Venus flytrap are probably the best known of all of the carnivorous plants that inhabit the earth.
They look peaceful and harmless on the outside, but try petting this hungry beast and you'll be shocked at how it treats you.
They could make wonderful pets...er...plants...er...whatever...if you know what you're doing to properly care for it. Would you bring a venus flytrap into your house as a plant or pet? I'm not sure I would. It might devour the cat.

@sol_cee It wouldn't surprise me. Or Amazon.

I'm not sure. In a plant shop or pet shop. I'd check both.

They clamp down on all insects including bees.

@Starmaiden I like bees but I hate mosquitoes and flies. I will check on the web where can I buy it.

I have never had one but I have seen them before. They are interesting to watch as they catch flies.

Yes, I have to think of my cat Sid but now, here in Florida in my little apartment, I see little flies about. They do not bother me too much but what fun they would be for a Venus Flytrap. Something to consider.

We had them as pet plants when we were kids. We would catch bugs and crickets and feed it. My mother sold them, HAHA. because of us looking for critters to feed it.

You gotta feed the plant. You may have been over feeding it. Just the fascination of watching it eat.

I have had them but I never seem to be able to keep them alive. Might try again soon.

They are generally harmless except to passing bugs!
