Waiting For My Groceries

It's so hot outside today I'm happy that we decided to have our groceries delivered. Now I'm sitting here waiting for the delivery to arrive. Can't believe another Monday has rolled around and this month is flying by. My weekend was quiet and uneventful. I watched the movie Our Souls at Night with Robert Redford and Jane Fonda and it turned out better than I had expected. I've passed by this movie many times when searching for something to watch and finally decided to give it a try. Glad that I did. Today is hot as heck and I'm not doing more than sticking my nose outside the door. I took the dogs out earlier this morning and it just hit me in the face when we stepped outside. ugh!!! Tomorrow it looks like a stormy day but who knows with this crazy weather. Last weekend I watched the original movie Mama Mia and enjoyed it even though I had seen it before. Now with the new one coming out and hearing the song on commercials that song is constantly running through my head. I'm happy that they are doing a sequel and I see that Cher has been added to the cast. Don't know if I'll actually go to see this movie but I certainly will catch it when it comes to Netflix or my cable channels. Anyway, my groceries are here so I'll be catching you later......

Our daughter-in-law gets their groceries delivered. There is a small fee, but she doesn't cook, so its our son who needs to get the groceries and she told me that he usually buys more then they have on their list, and that the small delivery fee greatly out-weighs the cost of him buying them. We found that hilariously funny, because how else will you ever try anything new if you don't buy something that isn't on the list now and then? I'm home-bound also, but mostly because of my accident.

Do you feel any better? I know you're probably going stir crazy being cooped up but rest is what you need. We get free delivery as new members but otherwise they charge a $10 delivery fee. For us it's worth it when we don't have time to go and do a big grocery shopping.

@Marilynda1225 I don't know what the kids pay, its not something that I've ever looked into, but I believe is either $5 or $10. But after a few deliveries you get a freebie. I'm no better, but getting frustrated that I still have this headache and the nausea. I did get a call-which I missed as I was in bed, for my CT Scan. I go this Wednesday morning. I'll have to tell my hubby as he's going to take the day off to drive me and look after me.

I usually have pantry items delivered by either Walmart, Target or Amazon but I have to go to the grocer for dairy and frozen foods. Of course I go to costco for many of those items which also includes their Organic Chicken Stock by Kirkland, I am addicted to that stuff.

I've thought to get my groceries delivered but I don't know since I"ve never done it before. Which service do you use? Does it cost a lot?

I get mine through Giant which offers a service from Peapod. They charge $10 for delivery but new members get free delivery for 60 days (or that was what it was when I joined). So far my experience has been 100% positive. The delivery people are courteous and on time.

You do so much yourself with all your canning and jellies etc that I figured you probably wouldn't need very much from a store. I envy you all your fresh veggies etc.

My hubby does most of the shopping for me. I've tried home delivery service, but wasn't as happy with the fruit and veggie selection. That I do at our little farm markets or natural food stores. We have some wonderful new shops that cater to vegans, vegetarians, and other health nuts.

@Marilynda1225 I remember them adertising Mama Mia before. When I go on Netflix I check to see what is going on there and there are some that I pass up too.

I don't think I have ever seen that movie..They would never deliver groceries out here..or if they did..the total charges would probably be one million dollars.... You can't even get a pizza delivered..
