The end of an era

Back in 2001 is when I started meeting online friends through Yahoo Chat Rooms and Yahoo Messenger. It was fun meeting people who liked NASCAR because that was when I really started liking the sport and wanted to share ideas with people about it. I also met other online friends through that , that I am still friends with online today. We communicate through different sites now like Facebook. Awhile ago, some years now, Yahoo got rid of the Chat Rooms. About a month ago, I got a message from Yahoo saying that after July 17, 2018 that Yahoo Messenger would be no more. So, day after tomorrow, bye bye to Yahoo Messenger. I don't use it anymore and have not used it for years because of Facebook Messenger. I don't think any of my online friends use is anymore. But, it is sad to see it go because that is where it all started for me in meeting online friends. I am kind of sad about it.

That is true, but I don't think many use it anymore with the other messengers on the internet.

Back in the day, before MySpace & Facebook, it was a big thing. Did you ever have a MySpace? I did and at the time, I thought it would never fade, but Facebook came along and made MySpace not as popular. It still exists and my profile still exists and it has changed it's format, but it will never be as popular as Facebook.
