My wife just informed me at the moment at 4:22 PM, Tuesday, July 17, 2018 that the news report says it's 106 degrees F in Downtown Dallas. This is not even as hot as it once got sometime in the mid 1980s.But hot enough to melt the rubber off my flip flops.
When gardening to benefit wildlife, most people think about planting flowers that attract hummingbirds and butterflies. But woodchucks, foxes, chipmunks, frogs, box turtles, dragonflies, bees, and many other species can use our help, too.

Yes, I understand that! 106 degree Fareinheat is about 41.2 or so on Celsius, which is quite tolerable! Here we touch 45 in peak summers, which makes our lives miserable!

45 C , not good. How do you make it through the summer? I bet we are running in second place here in Dallas with India's summer.

@lookatdesktop ,On top of it some times the humidity practically makes the things impossible to live ! Many birds they die during that time!

@AKRao24 , Is there a way to make a canopy for the birds? I think a light weight cloth canopy for plants would also be a nice way to give birds a short period to rest and drink and get some shade as we also need shade, cool water and a canopy of some sort is recommended for very hot areas like where I live and where you live.

It's just as hot here but I was glad there was a breeze as I waited under a tree for the bus.

Yep. Under a tree in some kind of shade with the wind blowing is better than no shade and no wind.

I think that winter is melting on the north pole. Santa is having to put on sunscreen and rest under a tall palm tree while sipping on hot chocolate while his elves and reindeer take a trip to Hawaii to sprinkle some pixidust on the volcano before it melts the entire island.

The weather here in Lake Charles is around the low 90s with no chance of rain for the future for now.

I have to get out every day and water the plants, and run errands so in spite of the heatwave which is common here in Dallas, and the state of Texas, I don't really enjoy it much.

@Courage7 , I use Sunblock when I have time to do it. I go out lots of times forgetting about applying it. And further, I always wear a hat, a stylish Cowboys logo baseball cap and dark sunglasses. If I go out I only do it for under 20 minutes at any given instance.

@lookatdesktop You're right, dear friend. Now we turn on the air conditioner almost 24 hours a day.

I think China is a large country that might have a variety of temperatures throughout the day and the night. 96 is hot enough to run the AC 24/7 and make the electricity bill go up during the summer months.

I don't think I could stand to live in a State or Region that has such sweltering temperatures as that. Give me a place that doesn't get above 70 degrees and I"ll be fine.

I would rather not. The streets, where tar is used to fill in pot holes which are very common, the tar on the streets can sometimes get waves of wrinkles in them as traffic keeps rolling over it. Like a WAVY LAYS chip.
