Are strawberries supposed to be sour?

All the strawberries i have eaten are a bit on the sour side. I have always thought they were supposed to be sweet. Maybe it is just not suited for our country? I also tried the ones from Hong Kong.

I have tasted sour strawberries. But you can do away with the sourness if you add some sweetened whipped cream

They should grow great in your warm country-- try to find out the Season time for them there. In Canada it's late June/July

@lady1993 I'd have to check that out. They may need the cold winters to grow well later in the summer.

It depends on where you bought it from and whether it is ripe. Once suggestion is to keep the strawberries in the fridge first and only take it out and eat it when required - this may make it taste sweeter.

I guess it depends on where it is grown

It depends mainly of the kind of strawberries. The smallest ones, issued from wild wood European strawberries are the sweetest. Big strawberries, issued from an American species are rarely good.

Strawberry taste can depend on the soil they were grown in.
