Dinner at a restaurant. The waiter puts the food on the table and everyone dishes out their smartphones. Click, click, click. Saying grace, forgotten.
***
A woman is crying for help. Someone snatched her bag. Everyone busy taking a video of her hapless, hopeless. Seconds later, on FB, Twitter, etc. #happeningnow #livereport #snatcherontheloose. The woman, still crying.
***
Friends having a silent argument. On the surface, they’re cool. But their social media accounts about to combust with rants and philippics against each other.
***
Photo says it all.

Yes, the picture says a lot. I wonder how many of those other people will reach her age?

@sol_cee I reached 69 but my dad reached 100. Let's see what happens. I'll continue to eat lots of fruits and vegetables, drink enough water, sleep enough and get some exercise every day.

I saw this picture on Internet before, I like it. Though I enjoy using my computer, I don't enjoy using my phone as much, hence I always prefer to be like the old and wise woman, just to enjoy the moment, especially when I am with my young kids, I don't even have a chance to take out my phone.

Dam these people. Why can't they use the social media to good use.

Everybody has their phones, trying to catch the festivities and maybe the celebrities. But this old lady, just relishes them by feasting her eyes. She's seizing the moment.
She maybe doesn't have a cell phone, because in her younger years they weren't there yet for her to learn how to operate them.

@sol_cee My mother and father didn't have a cellphone. But all in the house have one. So, when my sister calls at any phone they just give it to them.
And if they want to call somebody, they have lots of secretaries in the house to do it for them.
My father was given a tablet by my nephew and was taught for how many times to operate it. However, it seems he cannot remember it the next day anymore. So, the little nieces are the ones using it and eventually, it was given back to the giver.

It has been the trend; but I don't go for it.

So very true but now I think people are also realising and keeping the photos to a minimum.
And I am guilty of taking a photo of my lunch with friends but that was for my mylot post, usually I don't bother

I am afraid that the continued used of technology is going to destroy our social structures. People of the future will not know how to hold conversations with others because they are always on their phones now.
I do not use my phone while out to eat dinner, not unless it is to show a picture or look up something that was asked of me.
There is a "game" of sorts that some people will play. Put your phones face down in the middle of the table. The first one to go for their phone pays the food bill.

It's crazy what has become of our society. Everybody always glued to their phones and laptops. Nobody really getting to know their neighbors and friends on a deep level anymore. Missing out on all the finest things in life because they're too busy tweeting about it and posting cutesy photos with filters on Snapchat. I engage in just about all the social media sites, but I don't let it consume me, nor do I let it dictate my life. Most people can't say that.

A distressing time for sure for that victim, hope she didn't put too much cash in her handbag. A few cases I heard, some women had some ten of thousands (US dollars) with them in the handbags, which they left next to their feet while having a coffee. Their handbags got snatched! (And here I thought you were asking me if I would like being stressed or desserts. On that note, I need to go raiding the kitchen/fridge etc soon....)
