Let`s Talk About Corn Cob Jelly

I read somewhere online about making corn cob jelly, well me being me I had to check this out for myself, since I eat corn all the time I decided to make this corn cob jelly. This evening I make this odd sounding jelly and now lets talk about it. When you boil corn, or the cobs, the house smells like corn, no doubt about it. I made the jelly and I got to scrap the pot for a taste. It does taste sweet with a sort of honey flavor but I still get that corn flavor. I let it be and took a break, when I went back I had another taste and it was more sweet than corn flavor, so in a few days I will open a jar when no corn scent is in the house and try it to see if I get that honey only flavor. Its not bad at all, its really good. especially since it is made from cobs that we usually throw away. And that is all I got to say about corn cob jelly.

It looks similar in colour to current jelly. I'm intrigued by the name of it. My Dad was a real joker, and when we would go up north on holidays we always went with another family. The adults did a lot of partying and playing cards, and us kids swam and fished and hiked. My Dad would always tell us kids to save our corn cobs because he'd be making us corn cob porridge in the morning. That would be his turn to cook. I look forward to hearing how the jelly tastes after it sits for a few days.

Interesting! I would think it would be especially yummy with butter too. I wonder how it would be as a jam with bits of corn in it!

One of my favorite treats when I would visit my grandma was her homemade biscuits in the morning, you could have any of her jellies or jams you wanted. But she never made corn cob jelly.

You are coming up with some great flavor ideas for your jellies. I have a feeling you're going to do a great business once you get it started on the web. You've got products not found anywhere else, and that is always a plus. The jelly sounds good.
