Please excuse my absence from the site yesterday and today as I finish up the major revision/edit for Thread of Evidence. I have only a few chapters to go, so should finish today. At least that is my hope. Next step in this process will be reading it for continuity, flow, and consistency. I don't expect to do any editing, but it always happens. Once the read through is done, it will be time to start the publishing process, which includes a final edit of the novel. I've also asked my son to do the map for the book. I need to figure out/remember how to scan from my printer to my computer. I've done it before, so I know it can be done. I'll need to do that in order to get the map in the book. I have the map already, it just needs to be transferred to the right paper, and not look as messy as it does at the moment. Things are moving along very well, and I'm happy with how it's coming along. I hope everything is going well for you. Thanks for reading.

Oh, I know well the work involved in revision and editing. Writing the book is the fun part. The real work starts once that first draft is finished. Do you have someone beta read for you before final revisions and edits?

My friend did that for me. I would like it read one more time, but I don't know anyone who would. It's quite lengthy at 202K+

@DWDavis Yes, it is, but there is so much going on, it doesn't seem long, and definitely not boring.

You are very busy. If you have the manual of your printer you should easily find how to scan the maps.

@just4him We are lucky now to have good graphic programs to transform pictures in black and white.

I had to install an app to get it taken care of. Now, for my son to make the map, and I'll be good to go. I did a successful scan of the one I have, which is messy and on colored paper, so I need to get it on white and clean it up.

If it is like my printer/scanner you of course put the item on the flat bed. Then you go to control panel, select devices/printer. There is a task bar across the top when the screen opens that says "start scan" then when it is done, mine is usually saved in my pictures files. Hope that helps. We will excuse you, and I hope I am also excused as I will be gone most of tomorrow.

I found all that this morning, but found I needed to install an app for Win 10. I haven't used this printer on this computer before now. So, it's all set. Just need the map.

@just4him You are welcome. I started out writing when I was young. Somewhere along the way, I lost the spirit to write. I have often wished I could get it back but it is almost as if I have some sort of barrier preventing the words from flowing as they should. It is very frustrating to me and I have just given up. When I was in the 8th grade I dreamed of being a fictional writer and I won a writing award from my English teacher that I treasured for ages. Now it seems to be a chore.

@Shellyann36 If it's a chore, and you don't have the drive for it any longer, it's not something you're supposed to do.
