Blood Moon Showing In The Eastern Hemisphere

I read on the Internet that the Eastern Hemisphere will be given the rare treat of being able to witness a Total Lunar Eclipse or Blood Moon in a few days! July 27-28 will be as no other in those parts of the world! This special event will include partial lunar eclipses as well as a total one so will end up being a very long lunar eclipse as well. Unfortunately we in the Northern Hemisphere will not be able to view it but those in the Eastern Hemisphere have a good chance to catch the show! Some of the countries that will be able to view it are: Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and New Zealand but I would recommend checking on the Internet to learn the best times. I will be watching all the news channels, you can be darn sure, for this "other-worldly" event! Free Image- Pixabay

@MarymargII The weather is beautiful this morning. We had a thunderstorm during the night and the sky is clear today. We should be able to look at the moon from the upstairs balcony.

@LadyDuck let me know if you see anything- here all we saw was a gorgeous, round, golden moon.

I was very disappointed that those of us living in the western and northern hemisphere were unable to view this magnificent lunar eclipse. But then again, with all the rain and storms we've had here in Florida over the past three months, I doubt the sky would have been clear enough to witness it anyway. These storms have just been relentless! Anyway, I hope all those people living in the easter hemisphere were able to enjoy their spectacular treat!

@MarymargII I got to see a quick glimpse of the full moon on the 27th when I left for work at 4:30 in the morning. But then it ducked behind the storm clouds.

Yes, I was disappointed that the coverage was that bad on the news too! Wanted to hear more about it. I was treated to a lovely round, golden full moon though the 27th and the 28th.

@moffittjc It was a beauty that night but we couldn't see the eclipse- actually I was disappointed that there wasn't even much coverage about the Eastern countries seeing it.

I had read your post previously and thought of you on our way home from our trip last night. We are on the West Coast, but for whatever reason when we were driving through Central CA last night, the full moon was brownish/ reddish - I don't know why - but it was cool looking! But I didn't think we could see the Blood Moon (perhaps it was the weather). I love these moon events - out of the ordinary!

I heard about it, but since it wasn't here, I didn't look on the Internet for it.

@MarymargII I'm surprised it didn't get much coverage. Maybe there was more coverage on the other side of the world.

I am disappointed that we in North America will be left out of the loop...again. Last month there was a solar eclipse that could be viewed only from the southeastern pacific.

Ha! I know it's disappointing. Even when we can see it the weather doesn't co-operate for me anyways!
