My cats loved to eat cucumber..

Another, that I had, liked also peas, corn and sweet pepper! He also loved honeydew melon.. During the WW2, the animals that were meat eaters, in a zoo, could not get meat, due to lack of that kind of food, so those who took care of them had to give them vegetarian food. The interesting thing was that the animals became more calm and their fur coat became more shiny. Could cats, like lions, tigers etc get used to vegetarian food? It seems so.. This reminds of some verses in the Bible, Isaiah 11:6 - 9 - you find an online Bible at jw.org

There are a number of videos on You Tube where cats jump in the air with fright if a cucumber is placed near them when they are eating. Your cat was obviously the exception.

@buenavida In the videos it's the proximity of a whole cucumber being placed behind them that seems to shock them. A bit cruel really.

My cat (I had one about 30 years back) used to eat idlis (cooked from rice dough) but drew a line when I offered carrots. Maybe I should have tried peas! Yes, the Bible is the best guide for everyone, especially during troubled times.

Yes, it seems cats have their own taste.. You can read the latest Bible translation in jw.org - it follows the original, as close as possible

I used to have a dog that loved carrots and every time he heard me peeling some he would come running and waited until I gave him a piece and was happy. God's New World ("new earth") will bring many changes and maybe as it says in Isaiah the animals might all be vegetarians but we will have to wait and see.

If we live in the future paradise on earth, it will be interesting to see what the animals will eat that time. At least they will not cause us any harm..

It is convenient to have the Bible on the computer. You might like this site with 7 well-known translations, including King James, American Standard, an Interlinear Greek - English and the one from 2013 using the latest knowledge of the original manuscripts:

@buenavida My Bible download has many translations, commentaries, the Strong's Concordance, and dictionaries. If that isn't enough, I have several books here as well.

An interesting theory? Carnivorous animals are poorly suited to eat plants largely due to having sharp teeth, not grinding teeth. Not sure how well they could adapt to just a non-meat diet. I think anatomy wise it would be a problem long term. Also, this would cause a devastating effect on the ecosystem if the food chain was changed.
