A Morning in the Garden

It's a beautiful day in Green Bay, Wisconsin, and what better way to spend it, than a trip to the Botanical Gardens. I think I'm burnt. I definitely have a tan. My focus was getting the one Lego sculpture I missed on my last visit, the spider. I found him hanging in a tree in the children's garden area. I got a couple good pictures of it. However, when I saw the sunflowers, I had to take pictures of them for @TheHorse. I never knew they got so tall, as seen in the photo above. On this trip, I took more pictures of flowers, since I had all the Lego Sculptures, though I did get a couple from different angles than the last time. I spent a good two hours there, enjoying the beauty of the garden and the many butterflies flitting everywhere. Persistence paid off. I got a good picture of one when it landed on a flower. The photos above are a combination of my first and second visit to the Gardens. How is your Saturday? Thanks for reading

It really is beautiful. The only one not a Lego structure, other than the plants in the middle, is the Lego blocks in the bottom right.

It was a lot of fun. There's a wedding there today. I saw the bride at one point in one of the pavilions getting her pictures taken. And got a picture of the area where everyone will be sitting.

These pictures are amazing! You did a great job! I guess you got plenty of Vitamin D from the sun today. I walked the dog, and went to Walgreens. That's all I was good for in this heat.

Yes, lots of Vitamin D today. Thank you. I needed to get back there before the exhibit closed to find that rascally spider. I don't know how I missed him the first time. He's just hanging there for all to see.

We have sunflowers contests in Europe. Tight now, the tallest sunflower measured 9.17 m (30 ft 1 in) and the owner who won the contest is Mr. Hans-Peter Schiffer, in Germany. I like the dragonfly.

@just4him The sunflowers of my neighbors surely are more than 8 feet, I do not dare going there and measure them.

Thanks, Valerie! That must be what the package calls a "Mammoth" sunflower. I love the Lego sculptures. Do they glue them together once they're "done"?

I'm guessing they would need to. I can't imagine the artist taking them apart and putting them together for each garden he features them at. Those sunflowers look taller than 6'

@DianneN Yes, there are. I'm glad it turned out as well as it did. Shooting when you have no idea what the camera is seeing is hard in bright sun.

Thank you. Though it felt like I got burnt, I didn't. I do have a nice tan though. It was a wonderful couple hours in the park. I was determined to get a photo of a butterfly. They were everywhere, and didn't stay in one place for too long. I think this one felt sorry for me and actually stayed in place long enough for me to get a picture of him. I tried for two, but he thought one was enough.

Thank you. I'm glad they turned out. With the sun as bright as it was, I couldn't really see what I was shooting at through the camera. I shot and hoped for the best. Quiet Saturday's are good too.
