Do you like to eat Little Debbie Snack Cakes? I have a big sweet tooth and on occasion (not all the time), I will buy a box at Wal-Mart or other Grocery Stores. They are rather cheap and come in many different varieties. Some of the different kinds I have bought in the past are "oatmeal pies", "fudge squares with icing and sprinkles on top", "white cake with white icing squares" and rarely the Christmas Tree cakes they put out during the holiday. If you like these snacks, what kinds have you tried and what kinds are your favorites?

No I don't. I don't really have a sweet tooth. I do want to try making a homemade version of the "oatmeal pies". I loved them as a kid. The recipe is in one of my favorite new cookbooks, Bravetart. There are tons of copycat recipes for all sorts of popular things including Girl Scout cookies, Wonder Bread, Oreos, etc.

That would be good to make the oatmeal pie recipe.

@LeaPea2417 I plan to eventually. I have 2 ice cream recipes that I want to make first. I'd much rather have homemade oatmeal pies than the store-bought ones filled with preservatives and who knows what else?

@NJChicaa We have not made it in years, but we use to have an electric ice cream maker and it was fun making home made ice cream.

When younger I loved Little Debbie snacks. Today watching sugar and cholesterol so I'm careful about snacks. Russell Stover's sugar free candles, La Chef's no sugar added slices of cheesecake and carrotcake and nuts are high in the snack list.

@LeaPea2417 Locally, they go on sale time to time for 2/$3. Otherwise they are locally $2.49 - $2.99 at most stores. I like these sugar free candies for they taste like regular candy. I really like Wethers sugar free caramel coffee hard candies. To prevent cavities place candy way in the back of mouth away from teeth in middle of mouth.

I have not eaten them in years, maybe decades, but I remember the Little Debbie oatmeal pies, and I loved them.

I have not heard of them. I do not like sweet things too often but from time to time I go to Dunkin Donuts for jelly donuts which are my favorite.

My favorite Little Debbie's Snack Cakes are the Swiss Cake Rolls. I don't often eat them anymore, but once in a while I'll splurge. I like to freeze them and eat them cold.

It's been many years since I had any little debbie snack cakes. Oatmeal pies were my go to. But the center icing is much to sweet for me now.
