After a long time of not doing much real cooking, I got the bug again! This week I seemed to buy a ton of stuff - single gas cooker, toaster oven, pots and pans and other assorted stuff! So today, I made a batch of macaroni in a white cream sauce, ate too much and froze the rest.

I like pasta in a white creamy sauce, sometimes I add shrimps and asparagus.

I'm not sure about the shrimps but the asparagus sounds like a winner!

@LadyDuck I am sure they do, but the shrimps here are a bit unusual.

It is rare a day goes by without cooking in our house. I know. I am the cook. lol. But great you got some supplies...MUCH healthier and cheaper to cook at home.

@Paradon Oh. Me too. And luckily the lion's share of them turn out. There have been a couple of non-keepers though.

@porwest I remember one day when I made green mashed potatoes for St. Patty's day. My kids had two words "NO WAY!"

I always seem to make too much! But some freezer bags take care of that! Actually, I think my freezer smiled as having a purpose again!

I like Mac and cheese too, but found the boxed ones are too much. Not wanting to eat a week of Mac & cheese, I searched for alternatives. Found frozen ones you can cook up in a toaster oven. Perfect for 1, and at Walmart, inly $1.17!!! I found frozen meat meals cheapest frozen. Just rewarm in my toaster oven and ready to eat. Just have to add veggies. Happy cooking!

Macaroni home made is the bomb. Sometimes I put jalapenos in it.

About the only food, I will eat out is Thai food. Western food is way too expensive.
