Guess what I got in the mail?

United States
August 11, 2018 2:14pm CST
I've been having a lazy day of mylotting, slowly getting back to my notifications, and just enjoying doing other things alongside mylot. I wasn't even expecting this to come today, but wow was the shipping fast. It's the silicone tray and scraper for the lip balms. The seller also left "instructions" on how to use the tray. I thought that was a nice touch, though un-necessary. It also makes me want to check the seller out again and see if they have anything else I might need. So I'll be doing that momentarily. What did you get in the mail today?

I haven't checked the mail. But unless the silicone mold for soaps comes today I'm not really expecting much today.

The mail was so early today. I need to look for silicone molds as well, but not for the soap, for lotion bars. I'm going to buy little embed flowers too.

I've heard of 7th Avenue but I have no idea what they do. I had a bill come along with my regular stuff, oh well, it was more of a statement, I don't have to pay until the 1st.

How does this device work? Is it for recovering the bit of lip balm always left in the tube and making a new stick from those bits?
• United States
12 Aug 18
No. You place this over empty lipbalm tubes. Then you pour a lipbalm mixture you've made up into the tubes, and this device helps keep them all standing up straight. Any excess lipbalm mixture can be scraped up after it's hardened and kept to be melted again for another batch. Most homemade chapstick / lipbalm mixtures use beeswax and cocoa butter.

@DWDavis Exactly, and the recipe can be used for lotions as well. It can be adapted and added to for salves as well.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Making your own balm seems like a cool thing to do. You can customize it however you want.

No mail today but I put in an Amazon order for essentials I need.

Going to order some from amazon, some from ebay. One or two gifts I'm getting a friend for her birthday at the beginning of the month will be from amazon. Amazon, such an addicting site. Though, a friend told me she watched a video where a guy was outlining all the things he went through as an employee of amazon, made her think twice about ordering from them.

@RasmaSandra yes and their customer service department is very good. The story was that the man had been in the military service and he had experiences PTSD. He said that he had to quit amazon because the experience he had there was worse than the PTSD that he had gone through after the service. He says they work long hours, that the breakroom at the amazon warehouse was literally a five minute walk, and that the breaks they had were very strict, you werent' allowed to go over. So you'd walk five minutes to sit five minutes. He said he would just go sit in the toilet so that he could have fifeteen minutes of peace. I forget the rest. I didn't watch the video, my friend told me about it.

A commemorative box for Prince Harry's wedding, and a magazine detailing the same. April Cornell catalog, and another catalog from James Hopkins' Press.

Oh that will be a nice keepsake for you. I didn't even watch the wedding.

@ScribbledAdNauseum It really was a lovely wedding, and Harry adores her, from what I could see. I'm a shameless royalty watcher, I confess. I have a collection of trinket boxes that commemorate various royal events.

@Telynor I like English history, but I don't follow the goings on now too closely. I've seen some books in my favorite thrift store that you would love. All about the royal family.

Not a single thing that useful. Ah, on second thought, an offer to buy my place from some real estate agents.

There is always some sort of offer like that either in the mail or hanging on the door knob of the house.

@YrNemo I'm sorry that it did. You know those type offers are careless, they just want to flip the house.

You know, I am not sure if ours came or not. It is okay, though. At least no more political material for a while.

You make me think of the drive to the town where the street fair was in Ohio. There were all maner of political things out in yards, and one big sign, almost the size of a billboard. I keep up with politics, but try to steer clear of them as well. If that makes any sense. Ours came at a good time. It started raining soon after, and our mailbox needs a new lid.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I went yesterday looking for some books in a series but out of the thousands, didn't find even one. I'll order on Amazon. I don't spend a lot of money out doing things so books are my treat.
