What I Seen Was Shocking!

Today Tony had a check up at the dentist, he has been having a gum hurting and wanted it checked out. The waiting room was pretty full and we had to wait, I bring a book and usually get lost in it but Steve Harvey was on so I was listening to him more then reading so I could see the people in front of me. Two Mexican ladies came in and sat in front of the t.v. They had a little boy with them that looked about 5 years old. He was quiet and played with little box cars. I went back to reading and the next time I looked up I was shocked! One of the Mexican ladies had this little boy cuddled like an infant at her chest, a blanket over him and was feeding him milk with a baby bottle! I elbowed Tony to look, he shook his head. When the 5 year old got done with his bottle he got up and played. What? Why? God! that woman won`t ever let her child leave home!!

There are many uses that are not shocking in other cultures. I just wrote a post about the shock (to me) or marriages in Utah, US, where one man marries several wives.

Yes that is taboo, not to insult anyone but most people look at this group of people as a religious cult.

Somebody's gotta show that lady the sippy cup aisle. That's terrible, I cannot imagine her ignorance.

@andriaperry Well, I was giving the kid the benefit of the doubt that he may not know how to drink from an actual glass, although he should. Will he ever learn to tie his shoes at the rate he's going? That isn't fair to hold back your child.

@Juliaacv I know what you were saying and I bet he does use glasses and h does do normal things but she is allowing him to continue this stupid act instead of letting him know he is a big boy now.

A friend of mine had two children that were 8 and 10 when she had the third child. The older two wanted a baby bottle when they went to bed to. So they each got a baby bottle when they went to bed.

Setting him up for dental problems at the very least. The milk, whereever it is from, has milk sugars in it and drinking it from a bottle keeps it in contact with the teeth even longer causing decay. I knew a woman who gave her child koolaid in bottles at four years old. That child ended up with decayed teeth and abscesses and had to have several pulled. The dentist noticed it when he was examinining an older handicapped brother and the little girl had come along.

I think that's ridiculous. When my son was little, the doctor recommended no more bottles after age 1.
