There is Lake in Mars!

I thought we will never find a body of water outside earth that is not a Moon in Jupiter. So recently it was announced there is lake in Mars. I think we can say there are bacteria there. I wonder if there are some animals living beneath those lakes. I mean there are fishes and snails that can survive the most polluted rivers. I hope they can send some underwater drones on those lakes. I remember seeing some tilapias on the sewers so there is a possibility of some species living on those lakes.
For decades, Mars has taunted us with the discovery of vast subterranean ice deposits and gaseous states of liquid, promising the best brains on Earth that t...

I think it is too early to say anything about this lake and what's in it. Anything is possible but until we can actually test the water, we can only speculate.

@CaptAlbertWhisker Anything is possible but at this time I will not speculate. I have a feeling that there is nothing there.

I am sure there is bacteria, But there could be some sort of fish like creature there. I mean Tilapias can survive a septic tank.

Mars looks like a desert, and there is no air.

actually there is air but they have more carbon dioxide than oxygen. It is a desert but its a cold dessert and it's waters is underground.

@CaptAlbertWhisker that means if living creatures want to stay on Mars, they have to find ways to make carbon dioxide turn into oxygen.

@May2k8 Most likely bacteria can. Though in the deepest of the ocean in earth, some animals were able to survive in places with minimal air.

Nothing is surprising about mars anymore. they probably found out before and just told us about it.

you know what they found animals on those lakes, i think we should leave mars alone. is there are no living creatures then we can colonize mars

Is it really a lake? If there's water in there, there's probability that there could be some life forms in it.

Probably microscopic life forms and life forms that lives underwater.

I heard Mars has a temperature range from about -80 degrees C to -30 degrees C. Its cold there so imagine the state of water and possibility of survival there.

There are bacteria that lives in the arctic. So yes there are creatures in extreme cold.

It is very exciting to know this. Yes I too hope to hear more of it.

If there is water, there is life, so those lakes must be hiding something.

Does matter tend to create life? I mean, the creation of bacteria and life forms looked casual. Sure, we can send infected underwater drones and clear all doubts! Jokes aside, it's pretty exciting.

although Europa is more exciting since it has oceans, Mars is much more near.

How can there be one. While there is gravity there.

Mars do have gravity. You won't float on mars.
