Scrapple and Spam

People who live in Delaware just love their Scrapple. This is a loaf that is made of pork scraps, cornmeal, flour, and spices. Even though it was invented by the Pennsylvania Dutch the people of Delaware made it popular. They have become the largest producer of this breakfast meat in the U.S. In the fall scrapple changes a bit and is honored at the annual Apple Scrapple Festival in Bridgeville, Delaware. I am now living in Florida and I have not yet had the iconic food of this state Key Lime Pie. It was officially named the state pie in 2006. It is a creamy citrus pie that was first created in Key West, Florida. Key limes which are smaller and the most acidic lime are native to the Florida Keys. The state of Georgia has been nicknamed the Peach State and that makes this fruit the iconic food of this state. All through the state, you can find peaches made in different ways and plenty of them for picking. In Hawaii the word is SPAM, They just love this canned this canned lunch meat. It became popular on the islands during WW II when it was served to the servicemen. SPAM is on menus all over Hawaii even though no one knows what the letters stand for. They might not know the meaning but of course, I am curious and I checked it out so when you are eating SPAM you are eating Special Processed American Meat. Somehow I think there is a country song in this. Does anyone eat any of these foods? Any favorites?

SPAM is the classic one for us Asians. if we have SPAM in our cupboard it means someone in the family might be sending the cans from US. anyway, are those healthy food?

@Mavic123456 not always the healthiest but now and then SPAM tastes good. You can chop it up in casseroles or have it in salads too.

@RasmaSandra yes, but for us it's heaven (that was years ago) now we don't even eat any kind of meatloaf anymore.

I love key lime pie, peach cobbler or sliced peaches in milk, and haven't had SPAM in many years but do like it fried.

I think almost every area, if not every state, has their special food. I used to like scrapple but can't eat pork any more, don't care for key lime pie, love peaches and I do like Spam! Here in Colorado, I'd have to say the biggest thing is beef, almost any way you cook it.

Hmm... does scrapple have apples? I'd like to try those lime and peach things, but I'm not so sure how I feel about spam...

I love spam and anything peach flavored. Key lime pie too. I'm not sure what NC is famous for.

I never heard of Scrapple. I have been to the home of SPAM in Minnesota. When I was in Key West, I had frozen key lime pie dipped in chocolate!

That key lime pie and chocolate sounds great @JohnRoberts I have discovered that the key lime pie is available at a local diner. So on Saturday, I am taking myself out for lunch.
