Got my checkbook awhile ago, it was a long process because opening a checking account is not easy. Seriously I dont not know to use it, I've seen checks many times but looking at the blank check is a quiet scary. It's my first time. I opened a checking account to help may sister abroad to have an account where she can use in paying the condo unit she purchased. She will send money on that account and I will issue check to the Vendor. Do you have checking account? When do you normally use it?

I have a checking account but rarely write checks. I use a bank card and the funds are withdrawn from the account. I also pay things online or they are taken from the account on a monthly basis.

@cttolledo I did write checks at one time. I get Social Security direct deposits to my bank. I use a bank card at the grocery store and other places. I had to pay the rent by check but they recently started accepting cards. I only use checks for church donations or sometimes for something else.

It's so easy just write the payee's name there and put the amount in the space provided. You have to write the amount in words as well. Make sure you do not make erasures in it or have any misspellings because if you do then the check cannot be corrected anymore. You need to make a new check again. Lastly do not forget to write the date of issuance of your check.
