Babysitting My Granddoggies

My daughter and her family are on vacation. They are driving up to Acadia National Park for a week of camping. They would have liked us to go with them but we are the designated doggie sitters. Too bad though, Al would have loved to go fishing with the boys.
Anyway, my two grand doggies Boru and Ginger were dropped off last night and they have settled in nicely. Nights are the difficult time, Brie doesn't want them coming into our bedroom, she is in charge of it lol.
We did finally get everyone settled. the Granddoggies are used to sleeping in their crate and we are going to have to set one up to make them feel more comfortable I think. It is okay if Al goes to sleep in the spare room, then all the doggies join me on the bed, I have to carry in Boru and Ginger and tell Brie it is alright for them to be there. Everyone then settles down and finds a spot.
I actually slept quite late today, 8:30 which is two and a half hours extra, must be the cooler weather that has come in overnight. Now the three dogs, Roscoe, Boru and Ginger are sleeping on the couch. Brie is under my chair, that is her spot.

lol Yes unless they are raised together dogs and cats don't usually mix. It always takes the dogs a while to sniff each other and decided if it is all okay.

@BelleStarr They say to have dogs first, then add cats. We did, and all were happy then. Sniffing dogs are fine. lol

@BelleStarr Good to hear they had a good time and your husband didn't mind you sharing the bed with the doggies instead of him.

You sound like you're in doggie wonderland right now- one thing for sure- No one would get far if they wanted to break-in lol! The barking would terrify them---lol!

they are looking so cute and you doing a great thing. i like that word grand doggies because this means you seeing them like you grandchildren. its little difficult job to handle all doggies but as you described that its look like your family member and you do it that job so well. they are really cute and i love to play with doggies. have a nice day my friend.

Do you have favorite places to walk them? Dogs are such gossips. They have to sniff here, pee there, and poop at that other place to let each other know how they're doing, what they've been eating, whether they're "getting some," etc.

We have a fenced in area where they can all run around and do their business but Al took the grand doggies for a walk, ours are ill-behaved and don't know how to walk on a leash.(they like to trip you up)
