I Fought the Vine and the Vine Won

Since I could not come up with an idea to write here, I went outside. I saw the vine and thought I will pull it out. That did not work out so well. The vine seems to be rooted every couple of feet and it is snaking all around the tree in our yard. I yanked and pulled and I think it laughed at me. There will come another day. I will win. I think. What do you think?

Pull firmly and be sure to remove all the roots. I am fighting with ivy.

@akalinus Ivy kills the trees and it is a pain when it invades a garden.

@LadyDuck Okay, that is something I did not know. I could send you some of my vines. Maybe they could kill each other off.

Ivy is pretty and is attractive when it climbs poles or walls. It gives a classy look.

Good luck with the vine. They are tricky and have lots of feet rooted in the soil. Don't over stress yourself in the heat over the vine.

@akalinus Yes, we don't want any instances of eating by the vine.

@Shellyann36 Vines don't really eat people. I saw a movie about a plant that went rogue on its owner. So, I am not really sure if it could happen.

I just want to keep the vine in line so it does not eat my house, or me.

At least, these don't have thorns. Not yet, anyway. They make my fingers itch unbearably from just touching them.

@bunnybon7 I should know better, I guess. I need to get some garden gloves.

Best not to challenge the vine, they can be quite stubborn. I often resort to the shears.

This vine is gunning for me. It is mad that I had the hedge cut down. The hedge was the vine's personal playground.

You have to get it all. You can't give a vine an inch.

Well John, if I could find the end, that would be good. It roots in a lot of places so when you think you pulled it up, you didn't.

These vines are determined to grow no matter what. I don't think they are pretty at all. They are not the ivy that decorates old buildings.

@Courage7 Yeah, they are weeds. If they were the beautiful ivy, I could do something with them.
