Salt Lamp

Last year, a trip to a furniture store produced an unplanned purchase - a salt lamp! It is what it says it is - it is a lamp that is made of a chunk of himalayan salt that gives off an orange glow. According to the box, Himalayan salt lamp can help improve air quality and boost mood. I did lick the lamp to check if it is indeed salt and true enough, it is salt! I have been trying to convince my husband to lick the lamp too, but no amount of persuasion from my part ever worked for him. He said I looked silly licking it so he will not do it. He said he believes me that is real salt. I placed the salt lamp in our living room right in front of the entertainment stand. Somehow it helps make the blue light from our tv to be a little bit more soft, if that even makes sense. I am not sure about it changing the air quality in our house because we have air purifiers all over the house, but it does help me calm down and relax especially after a long day at work. I would turn the salt lamp on and turn my scented wax melter and the combination of the lamp's glow and the wax scent helps me chill.

We have one too, but don't use it! We also have air purifiers too.

Why don't you use it anymore? I do admit that there are days that I do not turn it on just because.

I have been planning of buying one for the longest time. But somehow I am still adamant getting one and doubtful if they do clean the air and the mood because it seems they looked like more of a decorative one than creating the feeling of cleaning the air or the mood of your house.

I am not really sure how big mine is, but judging by how heavy it is I would say it is about the same as yours.

Because it's a growing trend, a lot of fake salt lamps are in the market now.

I can imagine that, given the hype and popularity. That is always the case with very hyped about products - ride with the popularity, make some money and then move on to something else.
