Fishing for Easy Ways to get Omega 3s

i like fish but I do not love fish so have to think of new ways to consume more that is appealing to me. But the benefits of eating lots of fish--especially cold water fish cannot be denied, so I keep trying. I made some Sole Almandine from a recipe I had and it was pretty good- but I never like how you have to air out your kitchen or you can smell the fact you've made fish for days later! It's great for your brain function, your heart function and many other countless things- even your skin. Usually I make sure I at least have salmon once a week but my husband likes fish even less so he has to eat something else. Then you're into making two options at dinner time which can be troublesome. The kind of fish he likes is the fish and chip variety and yes we do that sometimes too. I know I would eat more fish if I could have my own little personal chef make new innovative fish dishes for me three times a week, but we don't have a spare room for him at night--haha! Oh well, back to the recipes. Do you get your Omega 3s from plenty of fish eating? Pixabay free image used

I also try to eat salmon on a weekly basis. Catfish is another variety I eat a lot of, and living in Florida, different varieties of fish are always available to buy or eat. So, I think overall, I probably get plenty of Omega-3s in my diet.

@MarymargII That's one of the things I love about living here in Florida, and that's the abundance of seafood. I'm a big fan of seafood. And yes, I love both swordfish and grouper!

Yes, I love Catfish and know it's popular in the south. Along with Grouper, etc. I've even had swordfish down there and loved it.

I do want to eat more as it is so good for you- I love seafood, i.e. shrimp, lobster, King and snow crab, mussels, etc. but not so much just regular fish. I am working on eating more though as I know it is so so good for ones health.

@MarymargII Shrimps and lobster have an high cholesterol count. I love shrimps but I only eat once a week or less. Fried cod is full of cholesterol and this is why I never make fish and chips. Fresh salmon steamed or oven baked is one of the best for Omega3. I also like sardines.

@MarymargII I didn't know fish oil will thin your blood (see we learn something new here all the time). I don't take blood thinners so I'm okay

@Marilynda1225 I know and I am sad about it. We'll see. Fish Oil= if its good will even help with eczema. I have a bit on my hands and it used to help so much. So not happy about not being able to take it!

I love salmon, but my husband does not. He does enjoy a thick piece of cod, so that and tunafish are the only fish I cook. I usually order fish when we eat out. It's much more satisfying that way and cooked to perfection.

And it's a good way to get some fish as you say, cooked well. I try to although sometimes get attracted to a yummy meat dish---haha!

I LOVE fish, but don't eat nearly enough of it simply because it is more expensive. But I need to eat more fish, and I need to spend the extra to eat it. We can all use Omega 3s and unfortunately for those who are not fish eaters, they will be lacking without a supplement.
