Hello everyone.
Yes, I am itchy today.
My eyes started to be watery early this morning. Then sneezing follows. Now my face is itchy and as well as my arms.
When I got home from my son's school, I splash cold water on my face and wash my arms as well. Though I was relieved by that, I need more than that now. But I do not want to take anti-histamine now because it will make me sleepy early this afternoon.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

i think you have an allergy and if it includes your face itching, i think you have to go to your doctor. there are no-drowse antihistamine tablets that can be bought over the counter, but if i were you, i would go to my doctor and have me prescribed with a good anti-allergy medicine.(cetirizine is an antihistamine, so is benadryl).

@rakski my sister is prescribed with Telfast which is a non-sedative antihistamine. this is the medicine prescribed by the doctor to her when she went for check-up last Tuesday.

It definitely sounds like allergies. Sometimes it helps to use saline solution in your nose to get the allergens out. Maybe a topic cream for itch will help as well

Hope you are well by now. The fastest and surest way to stop the allergy is really antihistamine medicines. They will make you drowsy definitely but the reaction is fast in resolving the allergic reaction you have. Alternatives solution as what we did in the past when medicines are not available was a spoonful of sugar that you melt in the mouth slowly or some candy. I do not know how effective it is but that is what they gave me before when medicines were scarce during those times.

@rakski Oh yeah my childhood days was like that every shift in weather condition means I have to deal with allergic reaction to changes in weather conditions. The only weather condition I am adapted to is summer. All others is really bad for me.

I suppose that is an allergic reaction. Severe allergic reaction is dangerous.Whenever I have allergy attack, which happened twice here in Korea,my husband brings me to ER.

I take Cetirizine once a day when I've got bad allergies because it doesn't make me drowsy. I usually take it at bedtime. My doctor prescribed it but it's an OTC medication. You may want to try honey ginger tea with a slice of lemon or make a glass of lemonade with about 2 tablespoons of sugar. It would be helpful to know what you're allergic to so your doctor can prescribe specific medication and elimination diet. Hope you're better now!

Is it a food allergy, pollen allergy or some other allergy that caused this reaction? Different allergies require different treatments.
