~Video-Life Changing~

I saw a video today and it made me realize how many people really need their eyes opened. Here's how it went... A homeless man walked into a church. He sat in a pew but was asked by an usher to sit in the back instead of where he was. He got nasty looks from everyone and only ONE person in the whole church said hello to him-out of probably 100 people!! What would Jesus say about that?! Are you kidding me??!! The service was getting started when a member said let me introduce you to the new pastor of our church. Guess who?? Yup!! The homeless looking man was the new pastor. The congregation hung their heads in shame, some cried and some looked at each other with guilt in their eyes. He told them to go home and examine their hearts-the service ended right then. How sad the way we judge!! People need to wake up! We are all people-NONE better than another. Don't forget everyone can go through this!! No one is immune to it. NOBODY. I don't care how rich you are, one day in the blink of an eye you could lose it all-no matter what you believe right now... Wake up, stop judging and start loving!! Start helping others! This world needs love and needs Jesus. So so sad... It's heart breaking to me.

That is why I do not go to church, the people are there to judge. A church near by kicked out my elderly ladies and they are mentally retarded!!! This behavior is everywhere.

@andriaperry That was just one example of course. It's so sad how people judge and how mean they are.

@sharon6345 Not always the case. I love God, and going to church and I try my best to be an example of God's love to others. =) Of course none are perfect though.

@LovingMyBabies My boyfriend and his dad do it too much, to those who are wearing "Scrubby" clothes. Like, maybe they just lost a job and cant afford to wash their clothes this week. Or something like, ugh.

Sadly I have seen this type of behaviour in churches many times-it seems to be a place where people feel that they have every right to judge, and they do. What I find makes it worse is the fact that some will talk about that hour spent in church the whole day long, but they talk about the wrong things. Sad for them.

@Juliaacv I absolutely agree and I assume the best about people, always. Some people just always assume or see the bad and that's terrible.

It's so easy to judge a person by appearance when we really know nothing about them. Good post Jennifer and great example of how as a world we need to stop judging people

I have a feeling that the people in that church that morning felt pretty miserable as they should of felt. I have helped many homeless people and never thought anything about doing it. I could be in their shoes some day. Yes. people need to quit judging. I won't go to church anymore due to people thinking they are so much better than others. My words to them is to go home, look in the mirror and clean up their own back yard before they say or do something to others.

I read this story some where before and it is so true that others will judge you in the wrong way.

That sounds like a good video. Our Presbyterian church in Laguna Beach often has homeless people attend, and they are welcomed and never turned away ... even when they help themselves to coffee or other treats. Our church also provides a hot dinner for the homeless shelter at least once a week, and lets the overflow sleep in our fellowship hall when the weather is bad and there is not enough room in the shelter for everyone. They can also nap during the day on the benches in the rose garden. I am proud of how our church welcomes the homeless. Below is a photo of our local homeless shelter, with a man from our church playing his guitar while people line up to get food.

I heard of that story years ago. We are commanded is scripture to Judge Not. We should check ourselves in every situation and ask WWJD ( What would Jesus Do (or God) ) and liave and act in His nature every moment of our lives.

Sometimes people are like that, so judgemental, we easily give impression to what we see outside and not carefully analyze what's inside or what happened. In facebook, people so quick giving comments not digging to the root.
