Is It Still Only Mid-Morning Here?

I don’t know what’s going on with me. I only had 2 1/2 hours sleep last night and 4 hours the night before. I thought I’d sleep like a baby last night after the busy day we had yesterday, but no. I’ve been up since 2:30 AM!
This afternoon we have a barbecue to attend, a picnic, and an early evening dinner. I hope I won’t be a party pooper.
Has that ever happened to you?

Do you suffer from lack of sleep often? What have you tried to help you sleep?

@DianneN Stress does really mess with our normal routines. I am glad it was only temporary.

@DianneN Lucky you! But i know how to wreck your sleep: You only thought you were retired. First class bell at 8 am!

I remember once my sister phoned me to check whether it was the morning or evening. She had over slept after lunch and when she got up it was dark and so wondered

maybe because you are too excited for the upcoming activities in your house?

oh poor Kuma @DianneN I'm so sorry this is happening to her and of course all of you. I hope she isn't in any kind of pain with those tumors. I'm glad Doodles is holding his own. What about you? I know this is hurting your heart but otherwise you're ok, right?
I've looked up some stuff about the vitreous jelly in the eye and if I'm lucky the condition will correct itself in a couple of months.

@rebelann Thank you. She isn't in pain, yet. The vet told us that as the tumor enlarges, her skin will stretch and eventually become tender and painful. As it grows, it will encompass her spine and shoulder, making it difficult to walk. As soon as she shows any pain that meds can't alleviate, we call the mobile vet. Right now, she isn't in pain. This is truly hurting our hearts. I believe my difficulty sleeping is due to stress and worry over her and for my son. He stops by at least twice a day to spend with Kuma. He cries and had a panic attack over it. My heart breaks for him, too.
I'm so glad that you found that information and hope your eye heals up even sooner. That's great news. Did the doctor tell you the same thing?

I take a half a sleeping pill every night now just so I can sleep, Dianne. I still only get 5 hours sleep a night and sometimes that is restless. I know my sleep problems are due to stress. I hope that you have managed to get your usual hours of sleep again by now @DianneN . Lack of sleep makes a person feel awful.

@DianneN I know, Dianne, thank you.I am sorry about Kuma and other worries that have kept you awake. I only take a half a sleeping pill, so I don't feel too groggy the next day, I just wish I could sleep a bit longer than 5 hours, but 5 hours is better than no sleep. I hope you are back to getting your 7-8 hours.

@bluesa I don't blame you for taking just 1/2 a pill then. As long as you are getting enough sleep to function well, that is good. Had a nice 7 hour sleep last night and had lots of energy today. Otherwise, I'm usually a basket case and good for nothing. Life is tough and does get in the way of a pleasant night's sleep, unfortunately.

I know how much stress you are going through, Catherine. I'm so sorry for all of it. Do you feel groggy from the sleeping pills? I'm getting closer and closer to my 7-8 hours, which is what my body needs. I know stress has played a major role in both our sleep patterns.

It happens with me when I am excited with friends, family and fun around. It happened with me last week with festival and family gathering. I felt the tiredness and sleep deprivation after all got over.

@DianneN It causes my other health issues to exacerbate. I have severe psoriatic arthritis and chronic fatigue and this makes it like a leaded weight on me. My pacemaker kicks in too and makes my heart feel like a ping pong ball. It's so exhausting.

@DianneN - Fingers crossed that things stay this way, but I sleep soundly for 7 to 8 hours every night. I have a lot of friends who have problems getting enough sleep, so I hope things do not change for me in that regard. I hope you made it through the day OK.

I managed to perk up with adrenaline after my shower and being out with people today. I usually sleep 7-8 hours a night and fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow. I don't know why this has happened two nights in a row, but I hope it doesn't continue. I'm winding down now from a busy day.

@Courtlynn I hope your sleep does get better. I read that lack of sleep ages us more quickly. I'm only 21 and look at me.
I managed 6 hours last night. We went out to brunch and have a BBQ to go to tonight. Otherwise, it's a pleasant day. I hope you are enjoying Sunday, too.

So sorry to hear that. I know you do have trouble sleeping. I don't know how you manage. Fortunately, once I showered and got out of the house, I forgot how tired I was. lol
Many thanks. It was a fun day, and I will be going to bed earlyish tonight. Right now, I'm still revved up.
