Never Judge A Book....

So, I have been working a lot of closing shifts at work. After 8 to 9 hours of listening to the PA music, when the last customer leaves I will turn music on my cell phone for the rest of the closing process. Usually, I listen to something simple and unobtrusive. 90s alternative music, or something else fairly mild on Pandora radio. Last night, after a particularly rough day at work, I wanted something with a little more feeling, so I turned Pandora to one of my heavy metal stations. The first song that played was "Monster's Ball" by Butcher Babies One of the cashiers was up front with me when it started playing. "What isTHAT!" she said when it started. "What?" I said, laughing. "Who ARE you?" she said. "Why," I asked her, "Did something happen that made you think I was someone different?" We laughed about it, but really, not many people would know me in real life and see me listening to metal music. Which just goes to show that you really CANT judge a book by its cover. Is there something you like that might surprise someone you know? Do you like a different music, read a different kind of book, watch a different kind of movie than anyone would expect you to? Has anyone ever reacted strangely to finding out something you like?

People are sometimes surprised that we took a motor-home around Europe. When you first meet a person the 'cover' is all you have to judge them by which is why it's important to keep an open mind until you've had time to 'read' a bit more.

@nonersays No, you cannot judge a book by its cover or someone by the music they listen to.

Most people think I am just serious all the time but I am the joker, making fun of a situation I got myself in. I laugh a lot.

The only situation I remember right now when someone was surprised was during a conversation I had with someone. We spoke Spanish as he was that nationality from, when suddently my cellphone rang and I, after seeing on the screen that it was my Mom, I attended speaking in German. It seems that the person I spoke to before didn't realised that I am not Spanish, so after, I hang off the phone, he asked me surprised: was it German? Why do you speak German? You are right saying that we never should judge a person by his or her cover! If we do so, we will receive many surprises.
