Goodwill also has a book website

United States

I've known about shopgoodwill.com for awhile, but I wasn't aware that goodwill also had a book website. goodwillbooks.com was something I just came across entirely by accident. I was searching about a local goodwill, trying to see if I could find out if the place still had as many books as I remember them having. I'm going to check out the website, and possibly buy some of the books if they are cheap enough and / or something I was looking for anyway. Goodwill is available in other countries, but I am not sure if the website would ship worldwide

Do they accept book donations?

I'm not sure. I'd think that just going to goodwill itself would be easier.

@patgalca Ah. Well, I am not sure the website would take donations. Are there Salvation Army's up there?

oh that's cool. I should look there for cookbooks. . . or maybe I shouldn't. My shelves are full.

I think you'd have a field day in the thrit store that I go to. They have about five or six full bookshelves full. Any cuisine you can think of, beverages, any dietary plan cookbook, some celebrity chefs. I haven't taken a thorough look at it, but most of the cookbooks are around 10 cents.

@NJChicaa If you ever go with your hubby to Asheville again, drive down two hours to Winston Salem and go to Mckay's. That's the store I am always referring to.

Thanks for letting us know about this site. I just checked it out to see if any of my books were available on it.

I am pretty sure it's all just classic books, books required for school (The Great Gatsby, Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, Beowulf etc) and other books that there are bound to be mass copies of people getting rid of. It's not a book seller like Barnes and Noble etc. There is a book store I go to called "Piedmont Books" here in W-S and they have a "Local Author Section." I looked and your books weren't there. I didn't ask, but I assume they made the section because they had a good volume of these books from these authors, who just happened to be North Carolinians.

@DWDavis It is a used book store so I am not sure, but it's always worth a shot. I've talked to the staff there before and they are really very friendly.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I may write to them and see if they'd be interested in offering my books. Being out in W-S, they may not consider me local since I'm way out here near the coast.

I've seen the website before when I was looking for a specific book. But was not able to buy them because I run out of funds.

I just found a book I want to get that is cheaper on HPB.com than it is on this goodwill site. Even so, I'll keep an eye on it. I am about to compare it to Book Depository and Daedulus Books.

@thislittlepennyearns Someone here recommended it to me, and so I check it out every once in awhile. I have the itch to order some books as well. I ordered a Simone St. James book the other day.

I didn't really see any good picks on the site. I even went to the "big goodwill" in my county and there was slim pickings. There's a thrift store I go to and have found some good things from in the past though.

I hope you can find some good books from the site. I also just went to the "big goodwill" in my area. They had books but nothing that really caught my eye.
