Cross Eyed

Canada

I've been staring too hard at my computer screen for most of the day so far and I feel like this cross-eyed cat looks. Work scheduling didn't have anything for me to do today so I spent most of the day working on the sales page for my hair sticks. If anyone is interested in critiquing it the link is available on my profile. I did accomplish a lot. I first updated my order form so that customers can specify what kind of wood they want. Then I wrote sections for all the different kinds of woods that I'm able to work with at this point. I also added a few more photos. I'm beginning to feel better about how it is set up. Hopefully, I'll be ready for the beginning of October when I intend to push the marketing side more. I ran into one glitch that drove me up the wall. The last paragraph insisted on showing up in fine print. I'd change it. Hit update and every time it would just revert back. Aarrgh! Finally, I went into the HTML code and deleted the font indicators there. Thankfully that worked. Don't regard me as some sort of computer genius. I have almost no idea of what I'm doing messing around in HTML. Anyone else have this kind of a fun day?

I have no idea about html at all. I don't think I would have the same patience as you.

@koopharper Well, being able to fix those things is called patience. Because i don't have that and I would certainly call somebody to do it for me.

I'm not sure what I do on computers can be in anyway described as patient. Building a functional website is a lot of work. Just setting up and order form that customers can fill out so that I can send them an invoice and then confirm the order felt like rocket science. I'm tempted to just pay the fee and sell through Amazon except I don't actually have the resources to pay the fee with any certainty. I'm just happy that if someone goes to the site now it is possible to put in an order. If I'm real lucky the order form will be filled out correctly and I can go ahead with it.

@toniganzon I don't really have anyone I can call and getting an expert isn't in my budget.

I get a headache when I stare at my computer too much. You sound like a computer guru

Hardly a computer guru. If I really knew what I was doing I wouldn't've had to stare at the computer screen that long. It does give me a headache after awhile. Rainy day though. Not much else to do around here.

@aureliah Have to be happy that the day ended up wasted. That happens far too often.

Good luck. I'm no computer genius, but now that my techie is many mikes away, I figure it out, all by myself. So far it's all been successful.

Wesley and the others don't ever work in HTML so I was on my own on this one. Worst I could have done is screw it right up and have to rewrite that section. Frustrating but I would have eventually won the battle.

I go for walks and/or do something else for a little bit. Rarely push it as hard on the computer as I did today. The main thing is that I wanted to get that work done.
