Good Wednesday morning. The roosters are crowing and the birds are chirping at this very calm break of dawn. It has been announced that a strong typhoon is approaching my country and we are often reminded by the government to brace ourselves for the possible effects of this severe weather disturbance. I hope the typhoon will disintegrate and won't hit us. It is so unsuspecting for this calm to be changed later to a storm. I recall Lawin, that severe typhoon that hit us in 2016 that kept us electrically separated from the world for less than 2 months. I would not want this to happen again.

From the looks of it, it sure looks like the storm hit northern Luzon if the forecast would not change direction. It even went southern which means it sill hit Cagayan Province crossing to Ilocos Norte. I do hope and pray that people there would be prepared for this enormous storm passing through.

@ridingbet Yes looks like the weather is really trying to hide from it all. In the coming hours it will get worse. Just hope and pray that it would not inflict too much damage in your area.

@rsa101 thank you. although preemptive evacuation was done, i believe there are some hard-headed residents who refuse to leave their homes especially if there are many appliances inside.

that is nice. but isn't it you are in Manila? i hope the winds of Ompong will reduce its speed and gustiness, so the possible damages in our country should be minimal. of course, i hope power should not be disrupted.

The Unites States are bracing for a horrible hurricane that may struck some places of the East Coast today. It seems that it will be one of the most powerful in history.

@ridingbet We have almost destroyed the tropical forests, the deserts are gaining a larger surface of the earth and this causes more heavy rains and hurricanes.

@LadyDuck i wonder, if there are storms in the Arabian gulf and they have very tall buildings and skyscrapers there. these might swing with the winds.

it is really the effect of man's abuse to nature. climate change is giving us different climates now and we should always be ready for the worse scenario

September seems to be the month for storms - what a month to have a birthday. I hope the typhoon disintegrates - and I hope Florence, Issac, Olivia and Helene all do the same.
