If you want me to comment on your responses then..........

I feel satisfied when I comment on responses as I feel I am helping someone earn But if a response such as - 'well done', 'thank you' ........what pray can I say to those responses? The moral of the story If you want to earn generate a comment or response to your discussions. It is not just newbies but even veterans do this. OK If you do not want to earn it is fine by me

There are some discussions which do not invite a longer response.

Well done! That is true what you are saying , I often find that despite giving lot of scope for the people to respond back, they want to quit the conversation with simple 'Thanks!' , 'Good Day' etc. I thknk basically these people don't have the idea about how this site works! I will see today , how I will get comments to mt responses!

This was just to alert so that they wake up and realise why they do not get their 5 dollars at the end of the month.

@yoalldudes , No you can say anything like we talk in normal life! Hoe can you simply say thanks and keep quite in normal life conversation? We always have some thing to add or to oppose! Agreed?

If that is their first response to you, then yes no other interaction will be happening! That’s on them! But, if its an interaction going on and finally they wrote that then that’s fine..

You have so well put thoughts of many here who are just fed up with cookie cutter responses. Getting such responses when we are reaching a culmination point of interaction is fine but when you get it in the start of it, it prematurely kills an interaction which could have been continued beautifully for some more time. Well done

More than money a nice interaction can make anyone's day specially when we hardly come across real life interactions

@allknowing Very much true. And myLot is about interactions. And here we have no inhibitions except for following the guidelines. So people should feel encouraged to talk more.

Many a times, it's a statement made by people in comments section wherein they show what they like or about their thinking. Nothing much can be added thus I think people say thanks. I don't think there is anything wrong in acknowledging someone by just saying thanks sometimes.

myLot guidelines says this "Discussions, responses or comments that offer little or no value - Answers like "I don't know" or "I don't care" help no one and will be removed."
This is where you will find out what kinds of behavior are accepted and unaccepted on myLot. When in doubt, remember the Golden Rule!

@Rashnag I know you have always given good comments. I was referring to what others write where you have nothing to comment. That is exactly what I was talking about. They should write something where a comment could be generated.

It is not that we have something to say at each and every discussion but some have this habit of responding in just two words at every discussion. .

@Janet357 If users want to earn the only way they can earn is when responses and comments are given on their activity.

The first time response should be a bit long. Those that reply short l usually check like and not respond to anymore. I think it’s just my way if saying thank you for the effort they made. It’s for mylot to judge if it deserves to be paid or not.

@luisadannointed I will explain. If a proper comment or response that could be commented on is not posted they will not earn as only meaningful responses/commented could be commented upon. And when comments are posted on responses/comments there will be earnings.

@allknowing That is too bad. I like to go into other posts to see if it gives me something to write about or just to respond to someone else's post. I believe interacting here is a way to get to know others here. We are not all on the same time zone and there are days that we all cannot be here. For instance I will not be here when have to get off the computer on Tuesday and not at all on Wednesday. It is our Day of Atonement where we fast from Tuesday till Wednesday night or in my case till Thursday morning.

I think in that case, when you are not able to generate longer response anymore, it's no longer the earning what he or she after for but just showing appreciation or approval with the comments you leave. I have no problem with that because it's way better than ignoring your response after you exchanges some comments. If I'd no more to say, I just leave a "like" or give a "thumb".

It would be ideal to have a long interaction which is not possible many a time. But when just a two worded response is given in what way can that be commented on?.

@ZedSmart There are many situations where one has nothing to say. And that is quite ok. It is the habitual users who just finish with their activity with 2 word responses and comments is what I am talking about

There are discussions which you just can't really comment much really. Have you ever seen such a discussion? I just bumped into one several hours ago. In the end, I left something which I guess the writer would just 'like'...
