Do Bad Things Really Happen in Threes?

My husband had a bit of a set back this week when he had a mild seizure in the morning- something he hadn't had in 8 years! He's on medication after a stroke he has had left a lesion that puts pressure on his brain. His meds levels were creeping way too low and then- bingo- it happened. I called the hospital and they sent an ambulance and checked him in. He turned out fine but it was a real shock to me after all these years. Then later in the week I learned my brother had to go to hospital out West in beautiful Canadian British Columbia as they weren't sure what was happening to him! But it turned out to be a type of eye stroke! He is still undergoing tests. So here I am feeling shaken and worried by these events which came on so suddenly. But doesn't that seem to always be the case? And now I keep thinking of that old saying my mother used to throw out there- that bad things comes in threes. Well guess what- there's one more left! Makes you kind of slow down and look around- and feel like not answering your phone--haha! Very unnerving. On the bright side I have also heard that also good things come in threes so now I am going to wait for that chain of events instead--lol! Have you heard of that saying before? It's been around for awhile but then, so have I! It's been a very bad week.
