Monday Morning Chit Chat

Happy Monday Everyone! We had a nice reprieve yesterday from the clouds and rain with a whole day of beautiful sunshine. It was heavenly. Today, however, we're back to the dismal weather from what's left of the hurricane making it's way up the coast. I'm tired this morning. I thought I had a decent nights sleep and I'm hoping my coffee will recharge my battery. Yesterday I got a few Fall decorations at the Dollar Tree and now I'm more in the mood for Fall even though it's still fairly warm outside. Sometime this week I will get the box of decorations from the garage and start putting it all out and make the house look festive. It's funny because just the other day I was thinking I wasn't going to decorate and just put some mums on my front porch but after seeing some cute scarecrows at DT I changed my mind. I know a few people here have already started decorating and have their mums out. I'm hoping my granddaughter sells mums again this year as a fund raiser for her school marching band. They are very well priced, are a nice size and a lot of different colors to choose from. So that's what's on my mind right now. How are you doing on this Monday morning?

Its a hot day here, they are calling it mid-summer temperatures. Spring seems like a very short season, we seem to enjoy a few days of it as we go from winter to hot summer, and I feel that the autumn season is shortening in the same way. And I so liked the cooler more relaxed weather of autumn.

I'm glad you got some good deals at DT for fall decorations. Hard to think the decorating season is here already. There are some decorations I leave up year round, simply because I have no place to store them, and because I like being reminded of cooler days.

No-one decorates for autumn/fall in Australia - at least not that I've noticed. We do tend to take on American customs so perhaps in future we'll start doing the same.

The only decor we put up for Halloween / Fall, or actually - all the holidays, is the window clings. Except christmas which of course we also do the tree. But I'm thinking of maybe doing a bit more this year.
