I'm up early this morning so my missus can sleep in a bit. She's taking a vacation day today. Not that it will be much of a vacation for her as her day starts off with a doctor's appointment first thing in the morning and she's planning to spend the whole day running errands and doing chores around the house. I will be heading into school shortly. At this moment, I am waiting for the dogs to come in from their first potty run for breakfast. We received word last night that one of the campgrounds we frequently go to was so badly damaged in the hurricane that they have cancelled all reservations until the end of the year. Our Veterans Day weekend plans will have to be rethought now. This will be the first time in 5 years we haven't camped there over Veterans Day weekend. The dogs just came back in and are hungry for breakfast, so I have to go for now. I hope everyone has a great Friday. What are your plans for today?

After Florence's rampage it will take sometime for everything to be back as it was. today I will be here a bit longer than yesterday. No special plans for the rest of the day.

Florence is still affecting people around here. A town nearby close to one of the rivers had to have a neighborhood evacuated by boat, and military truck because the water rose so fast.

That's a shame about your campground. I was going to go to OBX before the disaster happened.

The northern stretch of the OBX was spared the worst of the storms wrath but it doesn't take much storm surge to cause a disaster out there. I hope you get to reschedule your trip.

@snowy22315 When the kids were much younger, we spent part of our Christmas Break at the Outer Banks. A lot of places stay open year-round now. Despite the cold, we had a great time.

It's disappointing that you won't be doing your camping at your usual spot for Veterans Day. Hope the damage isn't too bad and the camp will be open again soon. I'm having lunch with my daughters today so that's fun for me

@Marilynda1225 I haven't been to our local Ruby Tuesdays in ages. When I do, I love visiting their salad bar.

That hurricane has been so terrible. I will play ping pong later today and do some shopping.

All our lives have been knocked topsy turvy by this storm and I think we're all at some stage of exhaustion, if not physical then mental.

Sometimes, a vacation day is necessary to do what must be done. So sorry about your flooded campgrounds. I hope you can find something to serve as a good substitute.

At this point, we are planning to just go down for the day of the parade and the banquet. Depending on what my dad feels up to, perhaps just the banquet.

Yeah, I wouldn't call that a vacation day for her and I am sorry to hear about your camping site. Wow, they must have really been destroyed to be closed for the rest of the year. I hope you can find something else just as fun to do on Veterans Day. I am getting ready to go pick up my twin grandsons for the weekend, Whoo hoo, let the fun begin!!!

Even if we can't camp, if we can make it down to my mom and dad's by then, I'll still march in the parade and go with my dad to the banquet.

She won't. It isn't in her nature. She is finally, just now, chilling in front of the television.

@DWDavis I get bored easily so I would do the same thing most days.
