I need something new to watch. I LOVE Outlander but I've watched Seasons 1-3 so many times that I can pretty much recite them. Season 4 doesn't start until November. My husband recommended The Man in the High Castle to me last year. It is on Amazon Prime and is about what would have happened to the US if the Nazis had won World War 2. I believe the country is divided at the Rocky Mountains and Germany controls the Eastern side while Japan takes the West. I think I'm going to start watching it tonight. Has anyone here seen it before?

I have not seen this but it sounds interesting. Is it a documentary series or a fictionalized series?

I have never seen the show before, but I've heard about it. I wonder if it's good or not? It would be kind of scary to think of how our world would be today had the Nazis won WWII. Did you know that back when our country was in it's infancy, there was debate in Congress about what our country's official language would be? It was a toss-up between English and German. One vote was all that decided the outcome, and we all know that English was the victor in that vote. But what if that one vote had flipped and gone the other way? We'd all be speaking German right now, and who knows...we may have sided with Germany in WWII. Thank God that didn't happen!

@NJChicaa There was a very heavy German population in the Colonies. That's why in the Revolutionary War the Germans sent the Hessians in to fight against George Washington and his Colonial Army. You have to remember, several European countries had a big stake in the settling of the Americas, including England, Spain, Germany, Denmark, and others. Colonial expansionism was very prevalent in those days!

I've heard that story about the German language thing before but I think it is an urban legend. It makes no sense since most of the colonists were British and spoke English. Why would they want to make German the official language? I watched 3 episodes of the show last night and so far so good!
