Teaching English Online

Online teaching is very much in demand nowadays. Non-english speaking countries like China, Japan, Korea and other European countries are hungry for english. This is a job that doesn’t have age limit. Every one can work at his convenience. And you know what’s the best thing about it? You don’t have to commute or drive or beat the rush hour. No need for uniforms or what. You just need to have a degree or a tutoring experience or certification, and presto, you can teach! It’s an almost efforless job. You will just sit at your computer and teach. You don’t even have to prepare your lessons because they are provided for you. And the rate? They pay up to 24 usd per hour. You just have to be a native speaker. An ideal job to everyone who loves to stay at home and do their chores while they work.

I plan to tutor in English when I retire. I am already retirable after December 2019, however I will not retire yet, because I still enjoy working and having a nice time with my officemates.

@Janet357 I have been here for 12 years. It's actually my 5th job. In my first job, at the bank, I was there for more than 15 years. I got burnt out of the work because I was already the branch accountant, I resigned. I rested for 2 years then got a work again. But short lived ones, before this one.

Who are "they" who you claim "pay up to 24 usd per hour."? I think that there's rather more to the job that you suggest! "Just" a degree, experience or certification and being a native speaker clearly are not enough if you claim to have any of those, as your short introduction demonstrates!

Hi owl! Long time no see! For online yes. They pay up to 24usd. As long as you have years of tutoring experience plus a degree. But for beginners like they have spent a few months of tutoring, or someone with certification but no tutorin, they can get paid of 14usd per hour.

@Janet357 I have 18 years of childcare experience but no paper trail as most of it was in my own home. And Home Schooling my own children doesn't count either, unfortunately.

Lucky for the native speakers, 24 usd per hour is too small amount. but then sometimes this job can be offered to Filipinos as well.

The downside is, they just accept native speakers. Non-native speakers are not accepted because of their accent-regional accent which may be hard for young learners to understand.

@Nickzter1331 but perhaps someday, i will handle an account that accepts. Non-native. Finding native speakers is much harder.

I didnt know you have to be native speaker. I heard many people here teach english online. For some sites you just have to pass the test and you are ready to work.
