Fall is Here and Winter is on it's Heels.

Today was a little cooler and I could definitely feel fall in the air. I swept dried leaves off our deck and I can see more sky through the withering leaves. Fall is here. It sneaked in quiet as a mouse and within a couple of weeks we should see the colored leaves of fall. I love seeing beautiful fall colors but it takes away some of the joy realizing that it will soon be cold and time to bring out sweaters, and soon after that coats and hoodies.
I'm not a fan of winter. I will turn up the heat in our apartment and my deck will be off limits until spring. I'll miss going out to read the paper, magazines and books. I'll shiver every time I stick my head out the door.How many of you guys are looking forward to winter?

It's the opposite here in Florida, when it comes to sitting out on the deck. Our decks are pretty much off-limits in the summer, as it's too hot and muggy to be outside, so we wait for fall to arrive (what little bit we get) to finally get to go outside and enjoy our decks and patios. The nice thing is, when it finally does cool down enough to go back outside, we can enjoy ourselves from late fall through early spring before we have to retreat back into the air conditioning!

In South Florida it is summer until January!!! It was 91 today--I LOVE it and I am outside!

I'm already sad that it's getting dark so much earlier. We have chilly weather here today and I'm just hoping we can enjoy some nice fall days and winter doesn't come early.

They say it is the most colorful season of the year. My sister who lives in NY loves this season as the temperatures much more bearable than summer or winter in her place. I would love to experience that too but unfortunately its not possible at the moment. I was there last Spring time and it was really cold still with no snow.

Yep, it's a different world in Florida. I have not seen any real signs of autumn but I do feel more cooling breezes.

@RubyHawk - I am not a big fan of winter, which is why we live in Southern California. I do miss the fall colors, though. Most of our trees are green the year around, although we do have the occasional tree which changes colors and gives us a taste of fall. Even here, however, I can tell that the days are getting shorter, it is cool when I go out to walk in the morning, and I need to take a jacket if I'm going to be out after dark.

@RubyHawk - I know what you mean. Even here in So Cal, the days are shorter, we have more morning fog, and the lows are cooler. It is definitely fall.

It's a little cooler here but still in the 80s. Not cool enough for jackets yet.I could feel fall in the air a few weeks ago. Most people say they can't hear it but it's a different feel that I detect and the sky looks closer and bluer..

Being from Arizona, Winter is a blessing. I am a wimp to the cold so when it gets below 60 I am pretty much wearing a rug haha!

I have already found the mornings to be cooler in my area. I've had to wear a light jacket when I go feed the birds.
