Have You Ever Been Bullied?

Its always the innocent that's targeted because they just can't fight back. My wife is very simple and she has always been easy target ever. She is frustrated with her new office colleague's, they always bully her some or the other way. I use to defend her when we use to work together when we were in the same office prior to our marriage. But now as we have switched our jobs she is being targeted and that really makes her upset at times. I have told her to speak to her boss regarding this and see if she can be shifted to another department. Or else will see if I can join her company and take care of her myself.

Yes I clearly remember it while in Grade 7. It was painful but that person was well punished

Glad that person was punished, everyone who does such things should really be punished. Sorry to hear that you had to go through that.

Yeah I have told her to let this be brought to notice to the hr department. I doubt things will be taken that seriously as she is new and they will advice her to take things casually.

I am so sorry for your wife. I was bullied in school, because I was shy and frail and did not dare to reply back. I know how she feels, protect her.

Thanks Anna, she is also shy and can't reply back instantly to her teasers which makes her very upset and then the situation keeps dwelling in her mind. I will surely protect her

Yeah I always tell her to do so but she says, she just can't. I always tell her react with whatever comes to her mind so that they realize you are not taking it.

I can't remember even during my childhood days. I may not the friendliest person by looks because some people think that I'm not approachable and that would be enough to drive bullies away.

I don't recall having been badly bullied before. Some have tried but they did not succeed in totally bullying me because of several factors. I was a very quite boy back then and the teachers would always praise me for having good behavior so my classmate has that respect on me and I was never bullied at all in my grade school years. When I was in HS the idea of me being a role model persisted that anyone who tries to bully someone from around who knows me would defend me. I survived my Elementary and HS years just that. Now I am working I have no experience being bullied. I experience being force to do work that I do not like but I guess that is not bullying. I think no one criticises me at work I just do what I do and ignore if I hear the slightest critic in my work that is unless they are telling the truth.

Teach her to be bold enough to handle the situation. it is not possible for you to guard her, so it is better to learn how to defend herself in such situations.

I did so but nature is something you just can't change that easily, I teach her all the moves that I would if was in her place. But she just can't, she does lose her temper at times. But she is really soft hearted and just breaks down to tears. I know can't gaurd her all the time but each time she tells me about the incidents I get furious.

Workplace bullying is very common I read!!! She needs 2 confront them and ask what is your problem with me or tell the supervisor!!! Ask the supervisor 2 have a meeting with the bullyers 2 find out what the problem is!!! Sometimes if they R good employees they may not reprimand so much!!! The supervisr needs to address bullying in the workplace!!! She may even have to the government if necessary!!!!

Yes Danna, she had a word regarding the issue with her seniors and has been assured that they will be confronted. My wife said that since then everyone seems to be acting decently. I think they all got a good dose of their own medicine.

Yes, I was bullied way back in high school. That is the main reason why I hated going to school back then. My classmates would call me names (fatty, biggie, etc). I had problems with my weight before and I was kind of boyish. I lost my confidence in myself. So yeah, it hurt me, big time. Now, they can no longer recognize me because I have lost a lot of weight.

That was really sad to hear that you were troubled in your school days. Its seriously feels like not going to school when your targeted. I also was bullied in school because I was very shy and was scared of speaking in group.
