ATM Users Beware!

Card skimmers are being used at ATM's across the country. Perpetrators will use a small gadget about the size of half a credit card to read your card info when you go to get cash. Then they can make cards with your info on them and use them. Be sure that when you go to an outside ATM that you wiggle it around and move it. There should not be any electric tape or other things on the front of the machine so it looks the least bit gerry rigged. It should be a well maintained machine.

Yes they are becoming very innovative nowadays. No matter how the banks improvise on their machine they can think of may ways to put their skimming devices on the machine.

I also heard about that skimming scheme in my country. We are also warned that ATMs should not have a any detached keyboard and there should be no hidden camera that is focused on the keypads. One should be always aware that machines located on hidden areas should always be inspected when using it to be sure to avoid being a victim.

I just never use them. I always keep some cash on me. If I dont have enough and the place wont take my card then I dont need whatever I was looking at.

I've heard about that. I don't use ATMs and always pay inside when I buy gas.

I had my identity taken from a truck stop gas pump and now never use them. I go inside. The investigation narrowed it down to a Love's truck stop when I was driving through Arizona. Many times they hold the info for months and then the ring uses it for large online purchases and Walmart shopping in the stores. They not only drained me of over $800 in Walmart (they never ask for ID), they were buying small gift certificates on line. I got my money back from the bank but it was a stressful two weeks waiting.

theyd probably be doing me a favor. id get to file a stolen i.d. claim. get all the paperwork in order, get a new account, and social number. all my previous debts wiped clean, start all over with my banking and financial history.
